CrimeBREAKING: Katsina United Fans Slit Player’s Throat For Equalising Goal In NPFL by 0tunba(op): 9:16pm On Nov 08, 2025
The violence broke out moments after Barau’s Orji Kalu scored a 69th-minute equaliser to make the game 1-1, a development that appeared to infuriate some Katsina United supporters at the stadium.

Tension erupted on Saturday during a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) encounter between Katsina United and Barau Football Club, after a Barau’s player, Nana Abraham, was attacked and left with a deep cut on his neck by enraged fans of the home team.

The violence broke out moments after Barau’s Orji Kalu scored a 69th-minute equaliser to make the game 1-1, a development that appeared to infuriate some Katsina United supporters at the stadium.

Barau FC, confirming the attack in a post on its official X handle, wrote:

“70’ The match is temporarily halted following an attack on Barau FC player, Nana Abraham. Katsina United | 1-1 | Barau FC.

Just a minute earlier, the club had celebrated the equaliser with another post that read:

“69’ Goal Orji Kalu level the scores.

Katsina United | 1-1 | Barau FC.”

A disturbing picture obtained by SaharaReporters shows Nana Abraham bleeding from a visible neck wound, as officials and teammates struggled to control the chaos on the pitch.

The match, played in Katsina, was halted for a short time as security operatives battled to restore order.

There was no immediate statement from the NPFL management or Katsina United at the time of filing this report.

The attack has once again raised concerns about fan violence and poor security management in Nigerian football stadiums, with calls growing for urgent disciplinary measures against the perpetrators and the club.

This is coming barely a month after SaharaReporters broke a similar report in Kano at the Sani Abacha Stadium.

This happened after Shooting Stars (3SC) of Ibadan scored a dramatic 94th-minute equaliser to snatch a 1-1 draw against Kano Pillars in a Matchday 8 fixture of the Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL).

SaharaReporters learned that shortly after the away team scored, furious Kano Pillars supporters stormed the pitch, physically assaulting the referee, match officials, and Shooting Stars players.

This forced security operatives to fire teargas in a desperate bid to restore order.

This violence made the Nigeria’s Premier Football League (NPFL) slammed heavy sanctions on Kano Pillars Football Club, including a ₦9.5million fine, deduction of 3 points and 3 goals, and an indefinite closure of the Sani Abacha Stadium.

The decision, contained in a formal document titled “FORM 16: Summary Jurisdiction Notice”, dated October 13, 2025, and signed by Davidson Owumi, the NPFL’s Chief Operating Officer, found the Kano-based club guilty of multiple breaches of the league’s Frameworks and Rules.

TravelThe Destruction Of Yungay Town In Peru by 0tunba(op): 10:52pm On Aug 22, 2025
Imagine standing at the foot of Peru’s towering Huascarán in 1962, watching unstable ice and rock clinging precariously to its slopes. Two American scientists saw the danger and warned that the town of Yungay below could be crushed. Instead of heeding the warning, officials threatened them with jail unless they retracted it, forcing the scientists to flee. Eight years later, on May 31, 1970, a massive 7.9 earthquake struck. The mountain gave way, sending a roaring wall of ice, mud, and rock barreling down. Yungay was swallowed whole, leaving only about 400 survivors out of thousands. A town erased, and a warning ignored—a haunting reminder of nature’s power and human silence.

TravelAbout 800,000 Years Ago, Humans Almost Went Extinct by 0tunba(op): 9:11pm On Aug 18, 2025
About 800,000 years ago, our ancestors faced a crisis so severe that scientists now believe we came within a hair’s breadth of extinction. According to a groundbreaking 2023 genetic study published in Science, the global human population may have plummeted to just 1,280 breeding individuals. That’s fewer people than you’d find in a small high school.

And this wasn’t a brief disaster — the population bottleneck lasted for an astonishing 117,000 years.

So, what caused it? Researchers think the answer lies in a brutal combination of glaciation, prolonged droughts, and extreme climate shifts. These environmental catastrophes would have destroyed food sources, collapsed habitats, and made survival a daily battle.

Using a powerful statistical method called FitCoal, scientists analyzed the genomes of over 3,000 modern humans to reconstruct ancient population sizes. Their results revealed a 99% loss in our ancestral genetic diversity during this dark chapter in our history.

Even more fascinating, this timeline lines up with a mysterious gap in the fossil record from Africa and Eurasia. This could mean we’re looking at the period when the last common ancestor of modern humans, Neanderthals, and Denisovans emerged — a turning point in the human story.

It’s sobering to think that if even a handful more of our ancestors had perished, you, me, and everyone we know might never have existed. Our survival wasn’t guaranteed — it was fought for, over thousands of generations, against odds we can barely imagine today.

This isn’t just a history lesson. It’s a reminder of how fragile life is… and how resilience, adaptability, and maybe a little luck have always been in our DNA.

BusinessA True Leader by 0tunba(op): 4:43pm On Aug 18, 2025
During Japan’s 2009 financial crisis, Japan Airlines CEO Haruka Nishimatsu made a choice that set him apart from most corporate leaders: he slashed his own salary to \$90,000—less than what many of his pilots earned—instead of cutting jobs. While executives elsewhere clung to bonuses and privileges, Nishimatsu prioritized his employees, showing that true leadership is defined by sacrifice, not status.

Rejecting luxury, he commuted by public transport, ate in the company cafeteria, and worked from a simple, wall-free office. He didn’t lead from behind memos or closed doors—he stood shoulder to shoulder with his staff, gaining respect through humility, empathy, and action. In one of Japan Airlines’ darkest chapters, his example became a quiet symbol of solidarity and dignity in business.

Nishimatsu’s story now stands as a global lesson in values-driven leadership. At a time when many companies protect executive pay while cutting staff, his decision reminds us that real leadership isn’t just about making hard choices—it’s about making the right ones for the people who keep an organization alive.
