For eveything that has an advantage there's always d other side... this thread is meant 2 complement an ealier post on how 2 maintain battery life... tips were given such as reduction of screen illumination n others but i just realized that 3G supersede all d other factors put together.. we all know we dont need 3G all day long except for downloads... A solid EDGE in my area can browse perfectly well so that i only power my 3G when i need 2 download..... infact d worst case of battery failure is noticed when 3G n EDGE swing. so to prolong ba3 life n stop carrying charger about like u dont pay ur power bills, simply use a steady EDGE except u ave a stedy 3G n only power ur 3G when u need extra speed(download). my ba3 have never lasted dis long. Dont forget to reply d changes u noticed...

I guess that's why the talk time in 2G and 3G is always indicated by the manufacturer in the phone's specs...

I can't help but notice Etisalat and Airtel's Edge is solid almost the whole day, but MTN's Edge always goes haywire between 6:30, 7:00pm to 10:30, 11:00pm...so the ''switching to edge when not downloading'' trick fails at this point when using MTN

but this totally rock on Airtel (network that offers best deal for droids), saves gallons of juice

and like the OP wrote, we all know its not comfortable carrying chargers around...

u r on POINT brother... charging ur phone more than twice a day is Sick.. n exposes ur phone to theft if u r charging outside ur home.

@ opeano.. d options r under ur wireless or network settings.. u will see .. GSM only.. GSM and WCDMA.. WCDMA only.. choose GSM only for 2G...

BB ba3s r unimaginably low.. check online 4 ur ba3 limits n as 4 a new ba3.. dat should cost nothing less than 1500 depending on ur location..
