I have seen a lot of arguments, misconceptions and misunderstandings about Biblical issues on Nairaland, so i think we could all come together to reason from the scriptures about these issues. I will like us to discuss an issue for a week and pick on another the following week. The first issue is:
IS TRINITY A BIBLE BASED TEACHING?
kindly make some contributions with reasons

Trinity is unbiblical. Consider the following verses:

John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true God, and of the one whom you sent forth, Jesus Christ.

Jesus himself confirms there is only true God who sent him.

John 4: 23-24 23 Nevertheless, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the true worshipers will worship the Father with spirit and truth, for, indeed, the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him. 24 God is a Spirit, and those worshiping him must worship with spirit and truth
Jesus here allowed us to know that God is a spirit, God Himself never came as a human, though he sent Jesus who was a spirit to appear as human.

John 1:18  No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is in the bosom [position] with the Father is the one that has explained him.
Jesus here affirming no one has seen God, but people who lived in Jesus time saw him.

Mathew 16:16-17 In answer Simon Peter said: “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 In response Jesus said to him: “Happy you are, Simon son of Jo′nah, because flesh and blood did not reveal [it] to you, but my Father who is in the heavens did.
Jesus apostles also confirmed Jesus is the son of God they never approached him as Almighty God and he confirmed it himself

John 14:28 YOU heard that I said to YOU, I am going away and I am coming [back] to YOU. If YOU loved me, YOU would rejoice that I am going my way to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.
Its as if Jesus here knew that there will be a time when people will be spreading wrong teachings about him and almighty God and here he was saying categorically that Almighty God is greater than him. So, why trinity?
