Supporting Non Javascript Users by brightk(op): 11:29am On Dec 22, 2012
when it comes to making a page have enhanced functionalities, javascript does it all. But we all know that a well designed page means an accessible page by all devices ranging from screen,media, hand held,tablets,and screen readers. Most users either have their devices turn of js feature while others doesn't support. Most seasoned web designers will agree with me that the present HTML 5 standards are not browser compatible except for hacks and this hacks are made possible with the use of js..Imagine a well designed site that makes use of js having broken links when viewed from other devices....

my question is this..How do we support non javascript users in this present age of building rich and enhanced pages....

You can't avoid it but you can try and mitigate. Always have "progressive enhancement" and "graceful degradation" in mind:
Say you have a contact form. To avoid wasting the user's time waiting for a server response, you have javascript-enabled form validation. Then for those with javascript turned off, you also validate the same data on the back end. This also helps with those spammers who purposely turn off javascript before sending you their spam (yes, it isn't 100% proof but that is a discussion for another day. This is for those who fill out forms for the right reasons).

Make sense?

now imagine these scenaro
<a href='/Delete/User/2' id="ajax">Delete User</a>

Now normally that will run to the server, but using Unobstrusive Js, i add a function to make the link ajaxable

dojo.query("ajax"wink.on('click',function(e){
//AjaxCall
dojo.request.xhr(e.currentTarget.url).then(function(data){
//Success
},function(er){
//Error

}).when(function(d){
//Defered already resolved
});

e.preventDefault( );
e.stopPropagation( );
});

Now if No JS Support the its just a regular link if it does, it uses Ajax, which is why i hate seeing thing likes this <a href='' onclick=''>
