THE police in Lagos State have arrested an unidentified person, who allegedly planted the explosion that killed one person, injuring another, on Monday, in Lagos.
The identity of the suspect has simply been given as Williams and efforts are on to arrest his collaborators

The police boss in the state, Umar Manko, confirmed the arrest of one “suspicious person” but insisted that the police are still investigating the incident.

The arrested suspect had allegedlly confessed to have been responsible for the explosion, which killed a man identified as Oladele Pius, injuring a police inspector.

Investigations by the Nigerian Tribune revealed that Williams was arrested, after the police examined the call log on the mobile phone of the late Oladele Pius.

Many of the people, who spoke with the deceased chairman of Sand Dredgers Association in Amuwo Odofin on his recovered phone were subsequently arrested.

Preliminary investigations by the police led to the arrests, but one of them reportedly confessed to have committed the crime

It was also gathered that the arrested suspect had equally mentioned other collaborators in the explosion that rocked the entire Amuwo Odofin and FESTAC town.

Williams had allegedly linked the killing of Oladele to the leadership crisis, that has engulfed the Sand Dredgers Association, even before they relocated to the scene of the incident.
