A car/SUV is either for this year or for that year,any car/SUV manufactured after june/july is for the following year,that's why it's either 03/04,04/05,05/06 etc.

And the money you pay is called "Officer on duty" and it's like a tip,you aren't forced to pay on the road,it's mostly paid by agents and importers who've not paid up to what FG requires and customs everywhere have now taken it as their right but if you're within the limit,you don't need to be scared.Some agents started cut corners when importers too became greedy,when an agents charges you N350,000 and you're ready to pay another agent N250,000 for what you feel is the cheapest and smartest option,then it becomes a case of been "penny wise and pound foolish",whatever you refuse to pay in the office will be paid on the road,I've seen cases where cars pay almost N50,000 to get through some points,even vehicles from TINCAN. Then why should you pay police when you've your driver's license and valid custom duty papers with you?

Some vehicles actually go back to factory reset if the battery is disconnected after some time but 90 out 100,it stays like that for life.

You're right sir but absolute care should be taken to make sure the record shows miles and not kilometers.Some dealers can actually sell miles as kilometers and at the end,you'll find yourself buying the same mileage you were trying to avoid.
