Re: All DATA USERS, WAKE UP (CAMPAIGN FOR FAIRNESS) by Mogenerous(f): 9:37am On Jul 25, 2013
We all came here making mouth, we need to go to various network operator offices and nobody except a lil number of people volunteered to go... Is this how to make a change? We wanted our hashtag #AllDataUsersDemandFairness to trend on twitter so it could serve as awareness but only few people followed in tweeting! What are we doing? Is this the change we want? We sit back in our various homes doing nothing while those network operators keep taking us for granted... I hope we can wake up and make this a success cos it will go a long way if we can achieve this dream... It our right so let's fight for it... Let's try as much as possible to sign the petition... Let's continue our awareness on twitter.... Let's try and organize people that will go to their offices... Let's help in achieving this thing... Could a thousand heads are way better than few.... Thank you!

Arise O' compatriot....

Our fight against the telecom operators is getting somewhere... After all our effort to get our voices heard, the media have decided to help broadcast our demand for fairness... Going through this link http://www.punchng.com/i-punch/android-phone-users-protest-cost-of-internet-subscription/ You will get to see everything punch wrote on the youth's behalf... Mr. Tony of NCC said there was nothing the agency could do about it, because it was not a regulatory issue.

He said, "We  (NCC) don't regulate technology.  BlackBerry is a peculiar service different from other platforms. NCC doesn't provide Internet services and the  enquiry is not a regulatory issue.''
Are they for us or against us? All we are fighting for is fairness in internet data plan and not for them to tell if its a regulatory issue so we urge Nigerians to go through the link above and speak your mind, let's your voices be heard and let's stand for a change... It has gotten to a stage where Nigerian Youth have to stand for themselves and make a change because our so called leaders aren't helping situation. You can as well read about it on today's punch newspaper and it was also mentioned on INSPIRATION FM days ago, this is to let you know this isn't a joke.
Reading through this BC and doing nothing is a shame on you, a shame on us as well a shame on Nigeria as a whole so we urge you to please sign this petition, we need just 100 pple to sign it

The Punch Newspaper have carried this protest on their paper but, I am highly disappointed with the stand of NCC over this matter of asking for fairness.
Here is what NCC said:
When our correspondent contacted the Director, Public Affairs, NCC, Mr. Tony Ojobo, he said there was nothing the agency could do about it, because it was not a regulatory issue.

He said, “We (NCC) don’t regulate technology. BlackBerry is a peculiar service different from other platforms. NCC doesn’t provide Internet services and the enquiry is not a regulatory issue.’’

when it seems impossible i think that is the time we need to push more...

apology to those dat dont understand Yoruba,'ti egun ba ti de ibi un,oshe tan atiyo ni ye' a popular adage meanin 'wen u re bein pierced by a thorn n u re tryin to remove it,it becomes auspicious it's ready to come out wen u exclaim "uhn"!'

my fellow optimistic compatriots, pls do not let us relent,i will round this up by quotin a movie's quote which has helped me alot in life, "dnt think about success or failure just put in ur efforts"

thanks!

just likes to add,if this becomes successful then we can address other issues bothering us in the nation, and i guess that is what revolution is and is all about.

Please brothers and sisters we should not relent in our effort on the matter at hand. We are making real progress, now is not the time to give up. Who thought we would have gone this far but we did against all odds, an article was even written about this protest. I think this is real progress. Fairness

Good day my fellow comrades,am so glad we are making little progress on this matter.
I want to suggest we extract emails and bomb the links so that the world would lend their voices, mounting more pressures on the Telecom operatorder.so many people are interested in this struggle but have been cutoff internet. I wish there are other ways to get people to follow the link ooutside nairaland.
We cant give up at this stage, I will love a forum where channel TV will invite network operators and we get our representatives and have a debate on this.
Thanks,let's keep the flame burning.

“Struggle is the food from which change is made, and the best time to make the most of a struggle is when it's right in front of your face.

Now, I know that might sound a bit simplistic. But, too often we're led to believe that struggling is a bad thing, or that we struggle because we're doing something wrong.

I disagree. I look at struggle as an opportunity to grow. True struggle happens when you can sense what is not working for you and you're willing to take the appropriate action to correct the situation. Those who accomplish change are willing to engage the struggle.”
