As mobile apps are becoming more and more popular day by day, people are finding easy ways to create apps for different platforms. One such "easy" way is to create cross platform apps where you code once and run on all platforms. There are several tools present that allow you to do that one such tools are Xamarin, Appcelerator and PhoneGap.

cool...buh if am a java programmer,so i cant use xamarian.is there another that would work for me?

sorry for the late reply. if you are a java programmer. then you are more covered. java programming and c# programming are very much alike both of them are oop. you can easily learn c# within a very short time frame.

with a single codebase you can build for J2me, Rim[Blackberry], Andriod, IOS and Windows Phone.

The Nearest locator app(http://getnearest.com/) is built using that and iPolice Mobile, a personal safety and security app is also built on that.

Multi-platform programming environments, such as "codenameone" provide horribly kludged together code, slowing things down, and creating problems on certain environments.

If you can't code for a certain platform, don't target a certain platform.

I like Xamarin, however there's significant overhead against it when compared to native app development, as it uses up more APIs. Albeit, it's **soo** much more better than the other cross-platform alternatives, i.e., Titanium that tries to abstract UI APIs across multiple platforms, providing poor experiences with LCD design + the overhead that would come with it.

Bottom line is, is a poor experience a good enough tradeoff for your users? Looking at Nigeria's history of providing shoddy products I wouldn't think such a thing as "code quality" would pose much of a problem in the grand scheme of things where "releasing fast" and "releasing often" is the YOLO coder-motto.
