Of cos it rises,its the same logic with global warming,which entails the melting of icebergs & sea levels rise,causing flooding in some areas |

Since the ice cube is in a glass of water, if it melts in that glass of water there won't be an increase because the space it occupied as an ice cube is the same space it would occupy if melted. |

dryakson: rise or fall?... Abi you mean there's no change?There is no change. Basically, all solids expand on the addition of heat, except ice. Ice is for some reason less dense than water. So if an ice cube is placed in a glass of water, as it melts its density increases, so their is no net change in volume. The water level does not change. Forgive my earlier post, it was incorrect. Just confirmed that. |
