You can choose any route you wish to take as a computer scientist or computer engineer. Computer scientists can focus on software engineering, network engineering, and even a bit of Computer engineering with math and science. Computer engineers design computer chips (Intel, AMD, ARM, Qualcomm, etc.) They are quite useful and I believe that Computer engineering is a bit more difficult than Computer Science, though not by much.
