Guess that car is an auto tranny. I would advice you go for a scan. Now when I mean scan I dont mean using a bluetooth scanner because most people believe cos its cheap but forget to accept the fact that it has so many restrictions when scanning. If you have your check light on go for a comprehensive scan. And post codes here then we take it up frm there

Pray do tell us at what speeds this occurs. try and note the speeds this occurs and the change in RPM (how high the RPM goes). If you can scan the transmission module, that will equally be of good help. I think it is your transmission slipping though. It could be a mechanical fault in the gear or something that changing your transmission fluid might just cure. have you ever towed anything with the car?
