Can God Ever Forget? by PepERSprAY(op): 11:25am On Nov 03, 2008
Do we need to ask God for same thing twice?. Assuming I ask God for a job last week, do I need to pray about that job over and over again as if God has forgotten my initial request?. Same goes for healing, since God is not man and cannot be forgetful, why do we ask for healing from same disease over and over and over again per prayer session?.

Is there anywhere in the bible that supports that attitude among Christians because am thinking that it's faithlessness and over zealous attitude that is pushing us into bugging God every minute over something we've told Him before,

Insight please.

1 John 5:14-15.

"And this is the confidence that we have in Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, he heareth us:
And if we know that He hears us, whatsoever we ask (according to His will), we know that we have the petitions that we have desired of Him."

What this tells me is that once you have prayed for anything as long as it is the will of God, which is best known through His word, He hears and answers us. We may not see the answer immediately all the time but we will surely get it. That's where faith comes in; the evidence of something you can't see.

Can God Ever Forget? PepERSprAY if you asked me for something its either i say YES! NO! or maybe later i'll give or do it for you depending on what you asked me for. But one thing about is that i won't forget because am not a forgetful person.

Is God Deaf? And whenever you ask me for something theres no need to shout for it because am not deaf.

So if i won't forget and theres no need to shout at me and am only human then what of the whole Creator of the Universe God who is omnipresent and created the world in 7 days? How Can He Ever Forget and Why is He Deaf?

The fact that you asked that question Can God Ever Forget? means that that your expressing doubt, the fact that your expressing doubt means that somewhere at the back of your mind you doubt God's existance.

Well in my opinion God dosen't exist God is imaginery thats why he always forgets to answer your prayers and you have to shout at Him to get His attention  smiley

If God is not forgetful, why do we ask Him for one thing many times?

Cuz most times you are asking for the wrong things that do not glorify his name.

Ohh no, I do not see any reason that is wrong in asking God for legitimate job. People that do illegitimate deals rarely pray. Shall we then stop asking immediately we ask God for the same thing for the right reasons?

Of course we that God is not deaf and dumb but the question is: Are we suppose to repeat a request to God over and over again on the same issue like most christians do?. I believe that if you've asked God for a child back in 1998 and still can't get one till 2008, you don't have to remember your condition for God again even though it's been 10 good years you prayed over that issue because He has not forgotten.

@Poster,

I think someone posted something similar not long ago.

Really, I see it as lack of trust and lack of contentment that is the issue. . .

BTW, that your topic is inappropriate.

Cheers!!!

It is a question somebody that is powerful,i.e let say somebody is looking for the fruit of the womb, she prayed seriously to God,and the prayer was answered, and she has a set of twin, should we say that the woman will forget the Lord,God cannot be forgeting.cheerio! grin
Re: Can God Ever Forget? by alertsolut: 11:44am On Nov 04, 2008
HI I WILL TELL U THAT IF IT IS TRUE THAT THE WOMAN IS A VERY LOVING AND KIND ONE SHE MUST NOT FORGET GOD INSTEAD OF THAT SHE MUST DO A THANKSGIVING IN CHURCH FOR THIS MIRACULUS THING THAT GOD DID FOR HER THANKS
Re: Can God Ever Forget? by PepERSprAY(op): 6:18pm On Nov 04, 2008
I am not talking about thanksgiving. I repeat my question: Is it proper to ask God for something you've asked before if your initial request is yet to come?. If yes, does it mean that God has forgotten the one you asked Him before?. Why do some christians love to bully your questions with an imposing biblical speech that does not offer a solution? If you don't know the answer or you are a culprit here, step aside and let somebody who knows the answer offer some insight.

@PepERSprAY
what you feel is what millions in daffur, congo drc and heck even Nigeria feel everyday, do they have to remind God to take away their suffering, this dude God is either too busy creating other planets or just plainly simple does not exist. end of story.

You no read my last post well. Human beings don't forget {especially when its money matters} but God dose forget because God dosen't exist ok. Even if your prayers do come true its got nothing to do with God or any God for that matter its just luck. God only exists in your imagination.
Re: Can God Ever Forget? by Lakpenne: 9:54pm On Nov 04, 2008
Peperspray, Chris and the other atheist person:

I am not a x-tain but the simple answer is that God does not forget. With respect to always asking God over and over again, this is not necessary but if you do this with sincerity, then what is the problem since God always likes to be asked. To ask God for assistance, whether it comes henceforth or never even comes for that matter, you are rewarded for asking God for assistance. Why would you not be rewared. By asking, you are recognizing that God is in control of everything, that you are not in control and that you are in need of his assistance and is an admission of your humility to thr one who created you.

From my religous perspectivre, if you ask God for something, and he loves to be asked, one of three things will happen: (1) it is answer , (2) your sins are removed from you just by asking or (3) you will receive a reward fro askin in the hereafter.

As for the fact that a non-Answer from God means he does not exist, this is like saying several letters written to President Bush for pardon by Tookie Williams, which were never answered, means that Bush does not exist.

Rather, God existence is as simple as the watchmaker analogy. If there is a watch, there is a watch maker. IF there is a world, there is a world maker. That is not a leap of faith but simple logical impressions based on observations.

So if i pray for something now and God dosen't answer my prayers now your saying that i would get a reward in the hereafter huh huh Whats the point in God rewarding me in the Hereafter when i need an answer to my prayers now? Can you explain the logic behind that statement huh huh

As for the fact that a non-Answer from God means he does not exist, this is like saying several letters written to President Bush for pardon by Tookie Williams, which were never answered, means that Bush does not exist.
When you write a letter to Bush Your writing a letter to someone who exists in the flesh unlike God who dosen't exist in the flesh but is a spirit which cannot be seen with the naked eye so it can't be proven that He exists

Rather, God existence is as simple as the watchmaker analogy.  If there is  a watch, there is a watch maker.  IF there is a world, there is a world maker.  That is not a leap of faith but simple logical impressions based on observations
So i guess Uve never heard of evolution? And that based on your observations you've seen God in the flesh?
