TV/MoviesRe: Movie Review: Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024) by 1mavin(op): 1:50pm On Dec 13, 2024
ValeeLove:
her movies always feel rushed, I wonder why. You'd think she'd be able the fix that after 3 blockbusters. Hope she wins awards this time.
She is the most expensive Nollywood filmmaker rn. She spends alot of time making viral contents for the promotion of the movie...than making editing & re-shoots. It's still a good Xmas family movie though! As long as Everybody Loves Jenifa 🎉
TV/MoviesMovie Review: Everybody Loves Jenifa (2024) by 1mavin(op): 6:07pm On Dec 12, 2024
Everybody Loves Jenifa - A Review [No Spoiler]

I consider myself privileged to see the Advanced Screening of this Nollywood movie at the Viva Cinemas ahead of it's official release tomorrow (13th of December)

This is a star-studded movie and is not interpreted as the continuation of Jenifa's Diary, instead the re-imagining of the entire JENIFA Cinematic Universe (with fresh concepts)

It's action-comedy that is divided into two chapters; The Nigeria scenes & the Ghana scenes. The real action begins in Ghana when it transformed into "King of boys"-esque thriller.
Even if the entire movie is just a "girls trip" involving Jenifa & her 2 besties. You'll still enjoy the experience.

My first problem is how they left the Nigerian chapter inconclusive. Amazing acting by the cast but some performances are over-exagerated & underwhelming. Some scenes seem like they were rushingly edited inorder to meet the December theatrical release.
The celebrity cameos won't surprise you. But thankfully the reunion scenes are well-filmed... & it saved the movie.

The movie is pure family entertainment. A very festive way to end the year. We don't know what holds for Jenifa, but we do know that no one can play the iconic character like Olufunke Akindele. 🎉

Rating: 6.0/10
