This option does not have anything to do with first quarter but the third quarter, if a team is losing maybe by 2 goals some coaches takes risk and sub the goalkeeper for a striker leaving the post empty, this is one the open net goal might happen.

I know what it is about, when a team is losing by two goals or more their coaches start making irrational decision like removing the goal keeper for a player especially in the third quarter, so if a match you picked is still playing draw in the third quarter it will almost be impossible for an empty net goal
