Corruption... by PrettieJ(op): 10:51pm On Feb 01, 2015
This is kinda late but I'll still say it. Some people have incessantly accused the President of our nation of saying "stealing is not corruption" when he said "stealing is not the same thing as corruption". Of a truth, stealing is only an aspect of corruption and not corruption in itself; reason being that one can be convicted, prosecuted and jailed for stealing (be it a car, cash, house or someone's identity), whereas corruption as we all know is a different ballgame entirely. For example, how can someone be arrested for a corrupt act when there is no proof? E.g students who are victimized daily by lecturers, how do they drag their lecturers to court over what is not documented and will be a case of the students words against that of the lecturer; or how do you get a police officer arrested for detaining you because you didn't tip him? Corruption is something we all need to fight collectively and not blame one person for the rot in our society. We all need to decide to be men and women of integrity and corruption will die a natural death. Thanks!
