The Role:

We are looking for PHP/Web Developers with at least 4-5 years' commercial PHP coding experience and some Linux Systems Administration experience.
Experience using MySQL , Oracle and the top PHP CMS Tools (Joomla,Mambo, PHPNuke) are essential.

The person should have a Good understanding and application of current HTML/CSS/XHTML standards', Javascript coding skills and must be confident with Apache.

To design, develop and implement PHP/MySQL based websites and online applications.


Duties and Responsibilities:

* Develop and combine PHP scripts to produce interactive, feature rich sites, project managed by the Lead Developer
* Flexible HTML Layouts
* Code/script to meet defined company guidelines
* Object-oriented design (OOD) experience
* Expertise in configuration and maintenance of Apache web server
* Usage of Subversion/CVS in a complex development environment
* Knowledge of W3C standards and a understanding of the premise of semantic markup
* experience with joomla, mambo, postnuke or any other leading PHP CMS Tool
* Aid in the re-writing of existing PHP scripts
* DreamWeaver or other design tool
* Basic Unix/ Linux sysadmin skills
* Communicate with clients to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction


Essential Skills:
Experience developing PHP 5/MySQL websites
Experience using Oracle, MySQL
Understanding of systems behind online applications such as user authentication, file transfers and user interaction.

Desired Skills:
Knowledge of Javascript, HTML, XHTML, CSS
Familiarity of Adobe Flash and integration with PHP


Personal Specification:

Must be able to work to deadlines, and as part of a dedicated, motivated team of enthusiasts.
Must have excellent communication skills, both on the phone and in person. The capability to explain technical concepts to non-technical people will be a frequent requirement.
Commercial experience is preferable, but the quality the produced work is more important.

You should be able to give an idea of the financial implication when you expect serious people to send CVs to your company.

Personally, you should be ready to part with N700,000.00 per month to be able to land someone that knows everything you put down otherwise the person would be better off running his own business and managing his own clients.

Good enough Nigerians are now realizing the many benefits of having fully functional websites or applications as against the graphics laden elephant greeting home pages that decorate a lot of websites in Nigeria.
