I just want to know if anybody is participating or has participated in Google Code Jam.

I have participated in it once. I qualified for the next stage, but was disqualified because I did it together with my friends.

how difficult was it? And what language and tool did you use,

I used c++. The first stage is not so difficult if you have time but it is not so easy either! Google have robots that will check your codes for similarity, so I will advise to be on a solo mode during coding.
