Hi Nairalanders, I need assistance in writting a database program in Visual Basic 6.0.

I am using VB 6.0 and Microsoft Access,

Creating and conversion of the database, I already know but the codes

to search using a specified strings like Name and all the names will be displayed in a seperate form.

Please who can help me out.

What database are u trying to use(access, sqlserver, e.t.c.)

and what is the application all about (registration, management, e.t.c)

maybe then I'll offer to help.

so do you need people to help you build the interface or linking the database or the database itself? ur request is too vague.besides, except u want a ready made program, you should first get the compiler and trust me when u fumble with it for a little while, u'd start getting used to the IDE, its like learning powerpoint.if u fumble enough u'd get a headway.well, that's if its not a project with deadline.

Access database will be one of the easiest. i assume u know how to create the dbase at least. U will need the ado or adoc control to bind your dbase to your project, and use methods like move forward, backward, or the dbase controls, not sure if u are going to be needing databinding of textboxes, to the fields in your dbase, at least let us know what part of all these u understand so we know where to start.

what do you really what to achieve. I encourage you to start with Visual studio 05/08 IDE (since VB 6.0 is outdated) and connect to Access or SQL server databases. However start with understanding Database designs, normalization, SQL and relational database management system.
