The lawmaker representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Senator Ben Murray-Bruce, has urged the wife of the President Muhammadu Buhari, Aisha, not to be intimidated by her criticisms of the current administration.

According to Murray-Bruce, Aisha does not belong to “the other room,” as the President once dismissed the First Lady over her allegation that a cabal had hijacked her husband’s government.

Buhari, who was in Germany while Aisha raised the alarm in an interview with the British Broadcasting Corporation, had said he did not know which political party his wife belonged but he knew she belonged to “the kitchen, the living room and the other room.”

No fewer than six children between the ages of three and 10 have been rescued from a suspected human trafficking transit camp in the Ejigbo area of Lagos State.

The owner of the camp, 25-year-old Comfort Anwana, was arrested on Tuesday during a raid carried out by operatives of the state police command and the Ministry of Youths and Social Services.

Her siblings, Gift, 28; and 23-year-old Blessing, who stayed with her, were also apprehended. They all hail from the Oron Local Government Area, Akwa Ibom State.

Jealous husband axes wife 40 times, throws away her body. A jealous husband has been found guilty of murdering his wife with an axe and dumping her body in a Lidl car park after suspecting she was having an affair.

Norbert Chikerema struck Nyasha Kahari, known as Gillian, more than 40 times and was today convicted of her death by a jury at Birmingham Crown Court.

The judge told Chikerema, a care home worker: “You have clearly been convicted of a very serious offence of which the sentence is life imprisonment.”

During the trial, the court heard Chikerema, from Birmingham, and his wife ran a nursing home. The 42-year-old suspected the mum-of-four was seeing another man and had hired a private detective

The militants who kidnapped the six Senior Secondary School pupils of Lagos Model College, Igbonla, Epe, Lagos State, a few months ago, were among some youths that surrendered their arms to embrace the amnesty programme of the Ondo State Government on Tuesday.

A gas plant explosion which occurred on Monday has left at least four people dead in Imo state.

At least four people were killed after a gas plant exploded on Monday at Orji, a suburb town in Owerri, the Imo State capital.

It was gathered that the accident occurred at about 4.35pm at Okpokiri Petroleum Station, near two commercial banks. The four lifeless bodies were sighted with some of the body parts scattered on the ground.

Policemen from the Orji division, led by the Divisional Police Officer, Ude Umanta, a Superintendent of Police, as well as others drafted from the command headquarters, were seen on the ground.
