A heartbreaking video of a young Nigerian mother and her son sleeping at the Nigerian consulate in South Africa has surfaced days after some Nigerians were evacuated from the country.



The young mother is reportedly one of the Nigerians that have opted to leave South Africa over the xenophobic attacks on foreign nationals by South Africans. The Nigerian lady who has been sleeping at the consulate since Tuesday September 12, said she is waiting to make the next bus that will take her and others to the airport to be flown back to Nigeria for free.



Speaking on the steps of the consulate, while holding her young child, the woman said, "I'm leaving South Africa because of the fight [sic] and it affect my area a lot. They burnt all the shops, some houses and even my flat. They came there. So I just have to leave".



The mother of one revealed that she has been in South Africa for 5 years and doesn't know if she will ever come back. She also expressed hope of getting help from her family when she arrives Nigeria.

The Police in Kano on Friday said that it arrested three notorious rustlers for stealing 1,000 cows in Falgore Forest, Kiru Local Government Area of the state, 042hits.com


The Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Iliyasu, in a statement, said that the suspects were arrested by the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) team of Operation Puff-Adder in collaboration with members of Miyetti Allah in Falgore Forest using community policing tools and arrested the suspects.

He said the suspects are Sa’idu Abdullahi,23, of Soba Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Lawan Mohammad, 25, of Damau Village, Kaduna and Suleman Abdullahi,30, of Damau Village Kaduna State.

”The suspects confessed to their crimes and led Puff-Adder Operatives to various locations within the forest where more than 1,000 cows were recovered.

“Two AK47 Rifles with 110 rounds of live ammunition, Three Pump Action Rifles with 22 live cartridges, Two Military Camouflage Uniforms and four cell phones were also recovered,” the police said.

Iliyasu said that efforts are being made to track down and arrest all remnants of the syndicate who are at large.



He commended the Inspector-General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for his continued encouragement and guidance to officers and men of the Nigeria Police in-line with the directives and principles of the veritable Anti-Crime machine of Operation Puff-Adder.

Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong, has sacked the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Richard Tokma.

Mr Tokma had been in acting capacity since September 2018.



A statement on Thursday by the Director of Press and Public Affairs, Makut Macham, said Danladi Atu would replace Tokma as new SSG. No reason was given for the sack.

Lalong also appointed Noel Donjur as his new chief of staff.

The statement said: “Plateau State Governor Rt.Hon. Simon Bako Lalong has announced the appointment of Prof. Danladi Abok Atu as the Secretary to the Government of Plateau State. Prof. Atu until now is the Director, Institute for Peace and Social Rehabilitation, University of Abuja.



“Similarly, the Governor has appointed Noel K. Donjur as his Chief of Staff. Until his appointment, Mr. Donjur was a former Commissioner for Works and Current Member of the Plateau State Economic Council.”

The team managing the Instagram account of Big Brother Naija 2019 housemate, Tacha, has apologised on her behalf for improper behaviour in the Big Brother Naija house.

Housemates, Tacha and Mercy, were on Sunday evening issued strikes for inappropriate behaviour in the house.

Apologising for her action via Instagram on Monday, they wrote: “We admit Tacha has not been very careful in the house to avoid issues and the wrath of the organizers and owner of the house she dwells in.



“WE THE LOVERS OF NATACHA AKIDE SINCERELY APOLOGIZE TO THE ENTIRE BBN CREW OVER WHATEVER CHARACTER SHE MUST HAVE DISPLAYED TO INCUR THEIR WRATH. She is sober and willing to be more careful in subsequent days.

“We understand a lot of people have been let down and are displeased with how things have turned out with her in house but we’re sincerely sorry on her behalf as she is in this video. The meeting was behind closed doors but details of the President’s discussion with the Monarchs have emerged. POLITICS NIGERIA has a transcript of the President’s speech at the meeting, Read below;

“I warmly welcome Your Highnesses to State House. I thank you for sparing time to be at this important gathering to discuss issues of national importance, especially the security of our nation.”

“I have decided to meet with Your Highnesses to assure you that government is determined to tackle and deal decisively with all security challenges facing us as a nation. This consultation, therefore, is to engage you, our Royal fathers so that, collectively, we can arrive at solutions to any and all security problems in the country.”

“We must all do our part to finally address these security challenges, particularly traditional rulers, in your respective communities, where you feel the pulse of the people, being the closest to the populace at the grassroots level.”

We also continue to bring in our military when needed to complement the work of the police including possible deployment of troops on certain highways on a temporary basis, and the use of the Air Force assets to bomb hideouts where criminals are located.”

Four members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB) involved in the assault of Senator Ike Ekweremadu at an event organised by “Ndigbo Germany” in Nuremberg on Saturday August 17, have been identified by the Bavaria police.

Igbere TV reported earlier that the German police had a cold feet in investigating the assault incident and also announced that nobody has been arrested in connection with the attack and humiliation of former deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu.

However the 4 attackers were brought into custody, after the Nigerian embassy invoked section 102 (1), chapter 3, of the German criminal code.

It states: “(1)Whosoever commits an attack against the life or limb of a foreign head of state, member of a foreign government, the head of a foreign diplomatic mission who is accredited in the Federal territory while the victim is in Germany in his official capacity shall be liable to imprisonment not exceeding five years or a fine, in especially serious cases to imprisonment of not less than one year.

(2) In addition to a sentence of imprisonment of at least six months, the court may order the loss of the ability to hold public office to vote and be elected in public elections (section 45(2) and (5)).

The victim can also pursue a civil case if he or she desires. A foreign affairs ministry in Abuja told newsmen that the Bavaria state police have analysed the attack videos and identified four of the suspected attackers.

“I cannot reveal their identities for now because the German authorities are now co-operating with us and investigating the attack,” the official said.

Imo State Governor, Emeka Ihedioha, has accused former Governor Rochas Okorocha, of embezzling N1 trillion during his administration.

Ihedioha, in a statement on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media, Steve Osuji, said this in reaction to a statement by Okorocha that Ihedioha spent N2.8 billion on sanitation.



“We are taking our time in unveiling the numerous atrocities of the last administration and certainly, he must answer for all the evil he did against the people of Imo State,” Mr Osuji said.

“It is very strange that a former Governor could sit and concoct lies. How could Governor Emeka Ihedioha spend N2.8b on sanitation? What was it used for? Okorocha’s problem is that he is so used to lies that he no longer knows the difference between lies and the truth.

“The state spends only about Twenty-Five Million Naira on sanitation and the bulk of the funds come from support from corporate organizations as part of their corporate social responsibility.”

The statement also addressed Okorocha’s allegation that Ihedioha had within two months in office built a hotel in Abuja and new houses in Owerri and in his village.

“As at today, Governor Ihedioha operates from his private residence in Owerri, following the pillage and vandalisation of Government House by former Governor Okorocha and his cronies.



“How could he say the Governor is building new houses, when he owns a palatial residence in Owerri, where he operates from and mansions in his village, built many years ago? The question is – are houses built in two months?” he said.

The spokesman also said the present administration would remain on course to “recover Imo people’s funds and property looted by Rochas Okorocha and his cronies.”

Gunmen have killed three policemen and a civilian in an attack on the convoy of Nasarawa State Deputy Governor, Emmanuel Akabe.

The deputy governor’s convoy was attacked on Tuesday while they were on the way to Abuja for the swearing-in ceremony of ministers scheduled for Wednesday.



The attack occurred close to Gako hill in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area around 6 pm.

Nasarawa police spokesman, Usman Samaila, confirmed the incident to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).

Mr Samaila did not give details of the incident. He, however, said the commissioner of Police, Bola Longe, had led a team of officers to the scene to assess the situation.

“As I speak with you now, the Commissioner of Police, the Deputy Commissioner Operations and other high ranking officers of the command have gone to the scene of the incident,” Samaila said.



The corpses have been deposited at the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital Lafia.

The deputy governor, who was unhurt, could not speak with journalists on the incident.

Nigerian civil rights, democracy activist and daughter of late business mogul, Chief MKO Abiola, Hafsat Abiola-Costello, who turned 45 today, shared a photo of herself with her six siblings,their partners and children, as she remembers their mother Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, who was assassinated whilst their father was being detained by the Nigerian Government.

Wadume: Ibi residents kick against arrest of Taraba kidnap kingpin, say they’ll miss his ‘generosity’

The arrest of Hamisu Wadume, seems to have left a sour taste in the mouths of some residents of Ibi which is the hometown of the multi-millionaire kidnapper in Taraba state.




The kidnapper whose escape was initially aided by some soldiers who ended up killing 3 police officers and a civilian, was re-arrested by the IGP Intelligence Response Team on Monday evening, at Lai Mai in Alo Holo area of Kano State.




However some residents of Ibi community have kicked against his arrest as they revealed they will greatly miss his generousity, including building a mosque for the people of his hometown.

“His arrest is no good news to the people of Angwan Motori in Serkin Kudu area of Ibi in Taraba State; and other people who had been beneficiaries of his “generosity.”

“He was a benevolent philanthropist that did not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, religion or tribe.

“Wadume is constructing a mosque in our area. The project is almost completed and his arrest will stall the project,” Yahaya Maikifi Ibi told Punch.




Another resident of the community pointed out the borehole which Wadume drilled and also alleged that he did well by eliminating poverty out of some families.


“I wish you were here to see the mood of the people. Nobody is happy over the development.

“Let’s be truthful to ourselves, Hamisu has done well with the people of Ibi and beyond.

“For some of us here, he has done well by eliminating poverty out of some families,” Michael Adi said.


The former caretaker chairman of Ibi Local Government Council, Adasho Johnson also commented on the arrest of Wadume. According to him, the arrest of Wadume was good for the community as everyone lived in fear of the indiscriminate arrest by security operatives after the kidnap kingpin escaped.


“Now that the man in the eye of the storm has been arrested, we will have a relief.

“We will also wait in good faith to know the true state of the allegations against him" he said.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has denied raiding the residence of the immediate past governor of Lagos, Akinwunmi Ambode.

The anti-graft agency’s operatives stormed Mr Ambode’s residence in his hometown of Epe, Lagos, on Tuesday morning following the freezing of the sum of N9.9 billion linked to Ambode.

They also searched Ambode’s former chief of staff’s residence located in the same Epe neighbourhood.

The commission, in a statement on Tuesday, said its operatives were only carrying out investigation.

“We need to state for the records that the EFCC did not raid Ambode’s house. It is instructive that his administration, like other former governors is under investigation, since they no longer constitutionally enjoy immunity against prosecution,” EFCC said.

“The Commission hereby states with high sense of responsibility that the operatives did not raid Ambode’s residence.

“Whatever the Commission is presently doing with regards to the investigation is in line with its mandate and the rule of law.

“We wish to inform the social media to be circumspect in the reportage of any news with regards to investigation activities of the Commission.

“Our operations are always covert until at a time when we file charges in court.

“Therefore, the attempt to cast the Commission in a bad light is unacceptable as the EFCC will never engage in illegal act. We remain committed to the war against corruption.”

President Buhari on Monday August 19, expressed fear over Nigeria’s population explosion which he described as "frightening".

The President told the 43-ministers-designate who will assume office tomorrow to work hand-in-hand to find a solution to the worrisome trend.

“By average estimates, our population is close to 200 million today. By 2050, UN (United Nations) estimates show that Nigeria will be third globally, behind only India and China with a projected population of 411 million.

“This is a frightening prospect but only if we sit idly by and expect handouts from so-called development partners. The solution to our problems lies within us" he said.

Buhari also stated that his administration's major focus is on securing the country, improving the economy and anti-corruption.

He added: “None but the most partisan will dispute that we have made headway in all three areas. First, we have rolled back the frontiers of terrorism; we are actively addressing other challenges such as kidnappings, farmer-herder violence, improving the safety of our roads, railways, air traffic and fire control capacities.

“Second, we are steadily turning the economy round through investment in agriculture and manufacturing, shoring up our foreign reserves, curbing inflation and improving the country’s infrastructure.

“Third, we have recovered hundreds of billions of stolen assets and are actively pursuing control measures to tackle leakages in public resources. We will not let up in fighting corruption.’’

Signed to ISEKOLife Musix, the entrepreneur musician Ajaeze, had an all out madness when hosting his signature yacht party featuring all you can drink spirits, very beautiful people, and jamming music on the water.

Bobrisky is planning an elaborate party to celebrate his birthday on August 31 and he's boasted ahead of the party that it will be the talk of the town.

The cross-dresser shared photos of the hall where the party will be held and also photos of the decor he has in mind. He went on to say money will not be a problem when it comes to getting the birthday celebration of his dreams.

This is coming amid unconfirmed claim of YBNL Boss Olamide being the father of her baby. Recall it was alleged that the MTV Shuga actress had entered into a romantic relationship with Olamide with the belief that he was single and separated from his baby mama, Bukunmi. Pulse reported that the romantic affair between the couple wasn’t planned to be short-lived, but it began to fade away when Maria found out that the YBNL boss was still with his baby mama and long-time partner.

Twitter users are in shock after a young Nigerian man burnt his dog alive just for the fun of it and filmed it.

Before burning the dog named Jon snow, the boy took to WhatsApp to reveal that he intends to kill his dog. He asked for advice on what method to use in murdering the pet.

He wrote: "How should Snow die? Should I hang it? Burn it? Or hit it's head with a hammer?".

He proceeded to share a video showing him burning the dog. In the video, the white furry pet can be seen investigating a ball of dry grass, unaware it was placed there to use in burning it.


"Any last words Jon Snow," the young man asked his pet dog as the dog sniffed the dry grass.

He then set the dog alight. The dog can be seen running around, screaming in agony as it burned alive while its owner laughed.


The young man posted the video with a laughing emoji to show his lack of remorse.
