Hi Everyone,

I went to inspect a project yesterday whose plumbing was just finished. I noticed the water pressure from the water outlets indoor is low.

What i mean is that I expect the water from the kitchen faucet, wash hand basins and the shower mixer to gush. But the water is rather just coming out with no pressure at all.

The compound tap outside gushes with pressure tho.

What could be the problem? Could it be the product used?

The height of your tank stand is to blame. The higher the water tank from the water outlet, the higher the "pressure" or speed of flow of water. The outdoor tap is obviously lower than the indoor taps, hence the higher pressure outside. This is why showers usually have the least pressure, because they are installed higher and thus closer to the water tank.

You can boost the pressure by either increasing the height of the tank stand or installing a pressure pump or manipulating the sizes of the supply pipes.

With information about the sizes of the pipes, the height of the supply tank and the elevation of the different outlet, I can run some calculation on the expected pressure per outlet for you.

P.S: I'm not a plumber, just a tech guy that recently had to redo the piping of my flats, so I still have some ideas on this.

Most of these fancy mixers are meant to run with a pressure pump as they have smaller inners for water flow. A client had similar experience and it's solution is getting quality "full-open" mixers n faucets. Usually don't come so fancy though but gets the job done. You can browse through Sweet-home product in your locality (not an advert) they mostly come in knobs-style open and close

Yes, I can remember the scenario then, you are 100% right with the way you explained those faucets/ taps
Reason why it’s good to use full inner gauge gate valve for central toilet control to allow full pressure water supply into toilet and kitchen.
Only that to get good quality now is very scarce,, instead we used stop cock mostly now and this doesn’t allow full water passage at a go.
