This is a quote I got for a gypsum board ceiling. I see it as being weird with the amount of bags of PoP in the quote. I was expecting to see profiles and some other materials needed for Gypsum board. The person looking over the site don’t want me to have the direct contact of the person that drew this quote (Person that will do it) I feel they want to go ahead to do a PoP instead of a Gypsum ceiling being that I’m not around and I might not know what was done. Is there a way I can get a rough estimate of materials needed for Gypsum board ceiling considering the square meter (519) involved so that I can confront them with the materials that will be needed?.

Why would someone make a decision on your behalf on your property?
Get someone else to go and check too and do a quote for yoh.

Your feeling ain't wrong, this quote is for a normal in situ POP casting and installation. I'm surprised that the food/water the labourers will eat/drink and even the clothes they'll wear during the period of working for you are not included in the quote. If not, why would the work tools every POP installer should have be also included in the quote? You will know what to do after the professional POP guys here make their comments.

I am considering it because of the ease and swiftness of installation (installers has promised 4 days for a 4br, 2br and 1br), ease of maintenance and accessibility to the roofing area, minimalistic design options and affordable pricing (roughly 85k to install for room of about 14.3sqm)

Are there any disadvantages i need to be aware of?

I really need your advise.

I don’t understand why they need both. But my guess is that they want to do some parts with board and some with cement. . But even at that, the combined quality seems to be pretty high for your stated space.
But remember that it’s a duplex, so up and downstairs will be done . Including hallways , under stairs and balconies.

These are for temp structures. do not use them in your house you will regret it.

Hold one in your hands and tell us the material it is made with, this will shed more light into it, go and physically inspect the material this was made of

The major issue here is that I’m not even doing a PoP ceiling but a Gypsum ceiling so I don’t understand why the many bags of PoP cement and non mention of materials that’s used for Gypsum ceiling. Reason I’m looking for someone with experience here that can help me name some of the materials that should be in the quote (519 sqm) so that I can use it to confront them.

You will need to the shop where these are sold, hold am for your hand, nah only then you go realize say nah Absolut rubbish to put in your house, its a fire hazard for one, cos its made with same material as cartons i e paper .GO and buy pressed ceiling board instead if you fear POP
