Ringed red eye never redder bled
Cheeks hung loose and from wears worn
Pale as the man in the god-damned moon
By God he swore 'cos man was cursed
Life lived long, option-- death far from worst
For the maid that made the mad her man

He still alive could not have been more insane
As insane as he could never more alive been
T'was time for his shadows --umbra and pen--
