Please i have issues with my HP Elitebook 8440p with (600GB HDD and 4GB RAM) Laptop. The person that helped me to check the system was a computer Software & Hardware Engineer. He tried his possible best in many ways to revive it but to no avail. And he later discovered that it's the HDD that got damaged according to him. The system is not booting, immediately you switched it ON, it will show the Microsoft Logo and the Hang until you power it of through the On/Off button.

Though the guy just told me today that i just need to get another HDD pending when we'll be able to recover the files from the damaged HDD.

Please help me with suggestions/solutions because i've got a lot of important files on the HDD.

Better still, i would need either 500GB or 600GB HDD. How much can i get a genuine HDD?
Am presently in JOS, Plateau State.
