I doubt if this should be termed a poem but I just wrote it in a sad moment today. He had everything going for him A nice family, a good wife and obedient children He had a great job and wonderful friends Yet he felt empty inside. He felt lonely, unhappy and desolate. He had never felt alive before He had lived and helped others to live their lives Waking up became a chore for him A new day meant living the life his parents planned for him, Living the life his friends and family want from him. His job although high paying was uninteresting He was frustrated Looking back, he sees so much love that had gone unexpressed He sees so many errors that could have been avoided He sees so much pain that he won’t have experienced Only if he had been himself Now at the crossroads, he does not want to hurt those around him Yet he wants to stop hurting himself He stumbles on a book per chance telling him that at death mourning occurs only at the moment of been dead And to him he has seen the perfect solution to his pain If he dies, he would hurt no more and those he has spent his life pleasing would hurt only for a moment For the first time in a long time, he smiles at the thought of doing what he wants for himself He dies by his own hands never realizing death takes away the ability to love Shock for a while covers the face of they who knew him But like the book says, the shock and hurt is just for a moment Life goes on and those he lived to please moved on |
