My eyes locked onto Taiwo, and I could feel a shiver run down her spine. "You sure you're okay?" I asked again, my voice low and concerned. She nodded, trying to brush off the feeling. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just a little... overwhelmed." Her voice was barely above a whisper, and I could sense the vulnerability behind her words.

My gaze lingered on hers for a moment before I nodded. "Okay, if you're sure. But if you need anything, just let me know." I meant it, too. There was something about Taiwo that drew me in, something that made me want to protect her and keep her safe.

As I turned back to Olamide, Kehinde felt a pang of disappointment. Had she misread the situation entirely? But then, my hand brushed against hers, sending a spark of electricity through her body. It was a subtle touch, but it spoke volumes.

"Excuse me, Olamide," I said, turning back to Taiwo. "I think I'm going to go get some fresh air." The music was starting to get on my nerves, and I needed a break.

"Okay, have fun, I'll go get some drinks, talk to you later," Olamide responded, winking at me before she disappeared into the crowd.

"Care to join me?" I asked Taiwo after Olamide's departure. I wasn't sure if she'd say yes, but I hoped she would.

Taiwo's heart skipped a beat, and I could sense her excitement. She nodded, a small smile playing on her lips. "Yeah, sure. I could use some fresh air."

As we stepped outside, the cool night air enveloped us, and we chatted easily about everything and nothing. The city lights twinkled around us, casting a magical glow over the night.

I was beginning to feel a sense of comfort and ease around Taiwo that I hadn't expected. It was as if we'd known each other and been talking for years, not just minutes.

I leaned against the railing, my eyes gazing out at the cityscape. "So, Taiwo, what do you do?" I asked, turning to her. I was genuinely curious about her life and passions.

Taiwo shrugged. "I'm a freelancer... though gigs haven't been regular. But I'm thinking of starting an online fashion store too... Just trying to figure out my life, you know?" Her voice was filled with a sense of uncertainty, but also determination.

I nodded sympathetically. "I do know. It's tough trying to navigate your way through life. But I'm sure you'll figure it out." I meant it, too. Taiwo had a spark in her eyes that I admired.

Our conversation flowed easily, and I found myself feeling more and more at ease around Taiwo. It was as if we were two old friends reconnecting after years apart.

As we talked, I couldn't help but notice the way Taiwo's eyes crinkled at the corners when she smiled or the way her hair curled slightly at the nape of her neck. I felt a flutter in my chest, and suddenly, I was aware of Taiwo in an entirely different way..
