I tried.
I swear. I did,
Everything possible to stay on course,
Things, super human and some,
I did ‘em all,
Just to resist a little, the lure -
Of going down paths of no return.

I failed, woefully too.
Temptation was the devil’s choice tool,
Catchy and overwhelmingly cool.

So I fell, headlong.
And after the night, the rising sun,
Dawn met me in motion, downwards,
A swift pursuit of ribald gratifications,
Flying robes of sinful crimson,
Lost, in all ramifications of the word,
Typical of the human curse,
Sin!
