Pain isn't something
We talk about. It's
Something we all hide
In our smile. It hurts more
Than poison and comes
Faster than the wind.
It comforts us with a cold
And painful hug in the dark;
The kind that
Forces tears of joy
In a sad way.
The type that tells us stories
Of liars and cheats; filling our
Soul with the kind of pain
Only you and I know about.
The kind we'll never talk about.
