I have heard different stories on how humanity will end. From the Bible predictions of the rapture and the Antichrist, to Nostradamus's prediction of the Planet Comet, I have heard theories and see evidence of our civilization coming to an end. However, the most striking of these prophecies lies in the predictions of an ancient, but highly sophisticated Mayan calendar. The Mayans and their esteemed calendar have gained a lot of popularity. The Mayan Calendar put forth that the end of the world would take place some time in winter solstice 2012. As per the Mayan calendar, a month had 20 days, a year had 360 days, a Katun was a span of 7200 days and a baktun was that of 144,000 days. Now, coming to their prediction, the world is to last for exactly 13 baktun cycles. That would make it 1,872,000 days. Their calendar started on 3114-AUG-13 BCE with the birth of Venus. After calculation, it was found that the world would end in 2012. The Mayan calendar is known for its accuracy in predictions. It predicted "the rise of White Man Gods from the Sea", on March 5th 1519, which was the exact date of the rise of Cortes and his Conquistadors from the waters. So coming to my question, is the world going to end in 2012? What do you think and feel about these times and what may be in store for us? I want to hear from you.

Planetary Alignment is whats going to happen. But no one can tell for sure if there is going to be any natural disasters.

I have heard that when one sees into the future, that future changes because they have seen the unknown that isn't supposed to be seen. So, i think that whatever that predictions says, wont happen the way the calender says. But then again, i could be wrong.
