Reddish colouration could show d birds shedding intestinal linings, so u don't av to worry, if your birds were 6 days old as at 7th Oct, I hope you av administer 1st Gumboro vaccine

400 six weeks Amo broilers but told the owner to feed properly and dispose them off at 8 weeks as Christmas is too far. This birds weigh light from their age since their food is rationed twice daily.

He is taking my advice to raise another batch this week or next week. I may have to add some 50-100 Agrited to next batch as I feel very lazy to raise broilers myself this time around.

The weight I got from a next door farm is not encouraging as they are average of 2.2kg live weight and 1.8kg dressed weight at about 9 weeks.

I had to stop and Treat with Emybazin forte which worked. But I have vacinnated them with 1st Gumboro and tomorrow for Lasota. Their 14days today and all fine. No mortality

is top feed finisher high in protein?

please, I have a 3day old chick that is not eating or drinking. I also noticed its breathing is fast and kind of laboured. they are currently on antibiotics and anticoccyx drugs.

What is ur environment like, I hope u don't av stove or lantern dt are smoky, likewise hope temperature is not low and not too high.

Which hatchery did u buy from, hope it's from a standard hatchery.

Lastly, from my personal experience I think anticoc is too early @day 3, dey should be on plain and very rich multivitamin plus antibiotics.

Ensure a clean environment with adequate temperature.

Can you really make profit on meat birds with the long weeks of rearing?
Even if you get profits, it should be very small.

And for those who raise broilers for business, I wonder why some people will starve their broilers, or feed them poorly or used very poor formulated feed and still want to make profit.

Any broiler raised above 10 weeks is poor loss to the farmer.

I just bought two broilers from a farm and the taste is way off and tastes like fish. I suspect the feed was mainly constituted with fishmeal or PKC. This meat is terrible.

Nafdac have banned sale of unregistered broilers to eateries nationwide. It may look bad for the small scale farmer but its the best for public health. Farmers don't adhere to anything; drug abuse, poor hygiene, some even sell dead birds!

I wasn't talking about broilers in my post; we were talking noilers. Also, i wasn't rearing for profit yet, those are just for domestic consumption and thus i did not treat them as the commercial farmers would do. Commercial broiler farmers are only concerned about profit thus will do so many things to make the bird big and heavy in a very short time.

My Sunchi birds are 16days old now and doing well. Haven't measured their weight yet. See pictures attached
