Two heroic dogs reportedly died while foiling what would have been a far more tragic incident at Molai General Hospital in Maiduguri, Konduga local government area of Borno State, in the early hours of Friday, August 4.

The dogs prevented the bombers from gaining entry into the hospital with their persistent barking, and when the male and female insurgents were attacked by the dogs, they were forced to detonate the bomb strapped to their body and died instantly.

Confirming the incident, the Spokesman of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), Malam Bello Danbatta,  said that the dogs and the bombers died instantly in the attack but that no other life was lost. However, two CJTF sustained injury and evacuated successfully for treatment.

An eyewitness who spoke to NAN, said the dogs belonged to members of the CJTF and had been deployed to the area for rescue operations, and attacked the suicide bombers when they sensed the two persons were strangers.

 
 
Isah said that the explosion blew the suicide bombers to pieces and killed the dogs.

"We heard the male suicide bomber shouting in his dialect and the dogs barking and going after them. Only the suicide bombers and the dogs were killed in the attack,” he said.

Borno State Emergency Management Agency officials emergency Response Team evacuated bodies of the suicide bombers to the mortuary.

Suicide bombings had reduced almost to zero by the end of 2015.
Gradually, its now becoming almost a daily occurrence. This is what religion and its fanatics have reduced north eastern naija to.
And to think that late Dora Akunyili once said suicide bombings can never be a part of Nigeria. I never even imagined the country would be competing with the likes of Afghanistan, Iraq and Yemen in this horrible ideology.

I don't know the highest disrespect that can be done to the corpse of a dead Muslim, but I think such disrespect shout be meted out to the corpses of Boko Haram suicide bombers and members.

I think for a start, corpses of Boko Haram members should be fed to pigs.
