We all like to get the best especially when it comes easily. With wordpress, designing a basic webpage can take less than a day even for people who has no coding experience. However, things get more complex when you want advance functionalities for your webpage. Wordpress has an abundance of tools and widgets to meet your needs, from a simple calendar to a complex order processing system. This advanced tools however require a level of WordPress expertise and a little coding prowess (php and css).
With that said, the question then is WHAT IS THE FLAW OF WORDPRESS ?.
There is no simple answer, But the basic truth is, if you are operating a small website (a simple company page for example ), wordpress might serve you well all the way, If you operate a small blog, WordPress might have all you may ever need. If however, you website requires custom features e.g You want users of the blog to be able to start selling their own products like olx and then track their earnings while allowing them to keep a percentage of the sales.
You probably might not need something as complex as that but as time goes on you might need something very specific e.g A peer donation platform. Wordpress might not be able to deliver that to your liking.
Another reason why most people grow tired of WordPress is the Admin Management. Most pros have no issue with it but basic users definitely do. The page is somewhat static and can be complex at times. Most wordpress Admin don't need up to 20% of the features available on the dashboard.
Another issue is Upgrade. Most wordpress tools and addons require update. Woocommerce for example updates at Least once a month and sometimes the upgrade might cause some features not to work. Someone who is not a pro in wordpress will have to pay to get the bug fixed.
In conclusion. Wordpress is a very useful platform for beginners and people with no coding experience, however the more complex/specific you want your website to be the more likely wordpress will frustrate you. It gets even more frustrating if you have a new idea (e.g few years ago when online betting came up) WordPress will offer you no help then, however with time WordPress expands it's features to those new concepts. But by that time, it might be too late.
N:B. Many designers opt for WordPress because of its ready to use admin management system. A good coder will deliver a good and simple custom management system for your website but will likely charge more for it.

all what u said is true

but the alternative option is to pay a good developer to develop all the custom features u need from scratch and that will definitely cost a lot more.

Yes. Getting your own custom website is always the best if you can afford it.
