We never know the values of something and someone unless we have a good experience or get a benefit from it. Alot of times, we get influenced by what others say and do; which encourage us to do the same thing. Same like that we can never tell how good or pleasurable the life after death may be like.

So, always try to be nice and pass/ spread the goodness, positivities and try to be helpful to one another. Nobody ever know how long he or she may live. So, do good and leave the rest to the Allah
