Yes! Literally, Serpents & its seeds are in enmity with humans. In this context, Satan(serpent) & his seeds(his kind like Demons, Evil Spirits, Witch/Wizard, etc) became the most fearful to mainly women & children. No wonder, little thing human accuses Satan or the Village People for Misfortunes. To extent, humans devised songs, ways, to keep Satan away from them. That's when the enmity started.
God cursed Man to suffer & till ground. Man had before been working but the curse added "Suffering" to the Work. This is why it's not easy for men to get money/food to feed cos he must "suffer" for it. May be long/short suffering.
God sent two Cherubims(which Satan was then in such category) to guard the garden, less man would've learn a way to become Immortal. Adam-Eve were sent off the Garden.
It was later, they(Adam & Eve) exchanged ...

.. things to each other, as a part of vow to eachother. It was then, they became Husband & Wife. Now, you know why in a Wedding Ceremony, Couples are expected to exchange Gifts(Rings, Bibles, etc) to eachother.
Also, recall they(Adam-Eve) left their homes(the Garden of Eden) before becoming man & wife. In same way, a Man will leave his home to cling to his Wife & stay in a different home. That's why your Parents left their own Parents' homes(garden) & stayed where you find yourselves now.
Christ as the Architect of Creation decided to die for us all to pay our debts(sins). Just like when you give idea to something you want to be great, it turned out something else. You wont like such to be destroyed like that cos of your strength & love for things you contributed. You'll like to pay anything to make a handful of it/them remain for the bright purpose you have for it/them.

Christ as the Second Adam(as per in form of man) lived among men on Earth (as per the Garden of Eden), preached the gospel(as per Adam's work in the Garden), was followed/helped/led by Holy Spirit(as per role of Eve to Adam), tempted by Satan(as per the Serpent, but this time to Christ as per Adam not to Eve), died(as per to welcome us back), rose & ascended to Heaven(as the new home, as per a new Garden of Eden).
