Solve if you can... A piece of work was completed by 15 men in 40 hours. What percentage of work will 3 men working at the same rate accomplish in 1 hour? |

shankeke:This is an indirect proportion task. If 15 men can complete the work in 40 hrs Then, 1 man will complete it in 15* 40hrs = 600hrs ( the lesser the amount of men, the more time it'll take to complete the work. That's why it's indirect proportion) Therefore, 3 men will complete the work in 600/3hrs = 200hrs If in 200hrs, 3 men complete 100% of the work Therefore, in 1hr, the 3 men will accomplish (1/200)* 100% = 0.5% of the work Conclusively, the percentage of work that'll accomplished by the 3 men in 1hr is 0.5% |
