It's hard to do El Clasico build-up without mentioning the two lads. Lionel Messi, with 32 goals, is likely to win the Pichichi - Spain's golden boot - with Cristiano Ronaldo second with 24. This is actually Messi's worst goal involvement (including assists) since 2013-14 (although the season isn't over obviously). He has 'only' scored 43 and set up 18 in all competitions. Ronaldo is on his second best scoring streak since moving to La Liga - scoring 16 goals in a run of eight domestic games. In a stat that means little, if you exclude Messi's goals, Barca would be level on points with Real. If you exclude Ronaldo's goals, Real would be out of the Champions League places |
