• Strong knowledge of Android SDK, different Android versions, and how to deal with different screen sizes
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs to connect Android applications to back-end services

Insight: The best Android developer candidate has experience working with Firebase and JavaScript

• Degree in related discipline, preferably - Computer Sciences, IT or Engineering degrees
• Strong Java Programming skills
• Good understanding of the Firebase platform is preferred but experience in any backend development environment is required
• Some experience programming in JavaScript
• Familiarity with cloud message APIs and push notifications
• Have published at least one original Android app
• Experience with third-party libraries and APIs
• Understanding of Google’s Android design principles and interface guidelines
• Understand the nuances of fragments and Android XML layouts, and how to create adaptive interfaces that work for multiple device form factors.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and good version control practices.
• Strong ability to work with and modify/optimize existing code and UI/UX designs
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of computer systems and related software
• Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and meet deadlines on a consistent basis
