Former Finance Minister: Ngozi Okonjo Iweala Speaks: I still find it funny that most people don't know why Nigeria economy went into recession, they love the incompetent lies of Lai Mohammed about the past government ruining everything. It's also myopic to think that if Jonathan were to still be in power, we would be worse off. The truth about Nigeria's recession is this; it was caused by the president's unguided rhetoric and uncultured body language. Firstly, there is nothing we are buying today that we weren't buying 5 years ago, therefore it's not our purchase that put pressure on Naira but withdrawal of funds by foreign investors. After the election, the president created instability with his unguided statements about how everyone is corrupt and how everyone is going to jail. The instability made foreign investors to liquidate their investment and change their money to dollars. In the process of trying to flee, they were willing to buy dollars at any price, which lead to high exchange dollar rate. Even though some of them were not ready to run away, but want their money in dollars to save their investments from devaluation, the president gave a bad signal by banning deposit of foreign currency into dormiciliary accounts. That was enough for free market believers to see the draconian handwriting on the wall, that was the beginning of dollar rush. To make matters worse, the president came up with another outrageous policy of rationing dollar to certain sectors and blocking many sectors out. That was the nail in the coffin which facilitated the emergence of free FALL. In the end, foreign investors took over $80B out of the economy within a short period and everything went down to free fall. To those who believe it will be worse if Jonathan is still there, you are all wrong. Policy continuity and political stability will not let billions of dollars leave our shores within such tiny time frame. Even though the government might have income shortage, the private sector will weather the storm by their confidence in the market. The fear of the unknown created by PMB is responsible for the economic downturn not low oil price. Interest rate in America is currently at 0.5% while it is 12% in Nigeria. JP Morgan Chase will not mind borrowing $50 billion from Feds at 0.5 and put in Nigeria for return of %2000 profit. Citi bank will do the same, likewise US Bank Corp. Chase gave Buhari warning about the repercussions of his fixing policy before they pulled out, but his illiterate cyber warriors and misseducated e-soldiers said JPMORGAN can go to hell, they no longer believe in economic metrics since their messiah is in charge. Funny enough they are all suffering today because of the stupid policy, but they find relief by blaming it on past administration and Gucci appetite of average Nigerians. For your information, if your president "continues" with his unguided rhetoric, Naira will go down to N1000/1 $. But we thank God, he is no longer talking. #COPIED# SHARE AMONG NIGERIANS. |

*HOW TO VOTE* Introduction This brochure is designed to help you understand the Voting Procedures during an election. Remember that you are qualified to vote if you are a registered voter and you name appears on the register of voters at your polling unit. You must also present yourself at the polling unit. *Opening of the Polling Units* On each election day, polling units will open for Accreditation and Voting from 8:00am to 2.00pm. However voters already on the queue before the close of poll at 2.00pm will be accredited and allowed to vote. *Voting Procedure* Voting at the polling unit will be as follows: *Step 1:* Upon arrival at the polling unit, join the queue. *Step 2:* The Polling Official will request for your Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) and check if the photograph on the PVC matches your face. Then he/she will check if your name is on the register for that polling unit. He/she will also use the card reader to confirm the status of the PVC. After this, he/she will check your fingers to ascertain that you have not voted before. *Step 3:* Satisfied that you have been duly verified, the INEC Official will tick against your details in the register. *Step 4:* After verifying your PVC, the INEC official will return it to you. Indelible ink will be applied on the cuticle of your finger as a further proof that you have voted. *Step 5:* The INEC Official will stamp the back of the ballot paper and endorse his/her signature on it. *Step 6:* The INEC Official will then fold the ballot paper vertically with the printed side inwards before giving it to you. *Step 7:* At the polling booth, you will then stain your appropriate finger for the election with indelible ink. *Step 8:* You will use your stained thumb to mark the section provided on the ballot paper for your preferred candidate/party. *Step 9:* You will fold the marked ballot paper vertically with the printed side inwards before dropping it in the ballot box. *Step 10:* You will then leave the polling station. *Your right as a voter* On each Election Day, you have the right to: - Access the polling station - Receive information on the voting procedures from the poll officials - Vote in secret. |

*GUIDE FOR TRANSFER OF REGISTERED VOTERS* INTRODUCTION: _Every Nigerian has the right to live in any part of the country. An important part of voter registration is that an eligible person is advised to register at the centre nearest to his or her residence. This is to make it easy for the voter to access the polling unit and vote on Election Day._ *Eligibility for Transfer:* A person who has relocated to another place, outside the unit in which he/she registered cannot vote in his/her new location unless he/she transfers his/her registration. *Procedure for Transfer:* Step 1: The person who intends to transfer his/her registration will apply to INEC’s Resident Electoral Commissioner of the state where he/she is currently residing through his/her Electoral Officer (EO). *Note:* _The application should contain the current address and phone number of the applicant as these will assist in allocating the polling unit nearest to him/her as well as for contact purposes respectively._ Step 2: The applicant shall attach a photocopy of his/her Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC) to the application and submit at the nearest registration centre nearest to him/her. NOTE: The applicant must apply to the Resident Electoral Commissioner in good time, well before 60 days to the election. No transfer can be entertained or granted less than 60 days to election. Step 3: If satisfied that the applicant is currently resident in the area, the Resident Electoral Commissioner shall approve the application and direct that the applicant’s details be transferred to his/her new location. Note: The Commission may require evidence such as Utility Bill for confirmation of your residency. Step 4: The applicant will be assigned to the nearest polling unit to his/her new residences. Note: The applicant’s registration and particulars will then be deleted from the register of voters in the previous location Step 5: The applicant would be issued with a new Permanent Voter’s Card at the registration centre where he/she submitted his/her application or at any other designated centre by the Commission and the previous one will be retrieved. Note: When the PVCs are ready, the Commission will make a public announcement to that effect for collection. The applicant should pick up the new PVC in person as collection by proxy is not allowed. |
