What You Should Know About Python Programming Language. by iamakinfemi(m): 9:26am On Nov 21, 2018
Python is a high level object oriented programming language, it has a simple easy to use syntax making it the perfect language for someone trying to learn computer programming from the beginning. It was created by Guido Van Rossum and first released in February 1991. Python language wasn’t named after the dangerous snake python as some people might think, the name was adopted from a comedy series from the late seventies “Monty python’s flying circus”.
Python has a guileless and stylish syntax, it is much easier to learn and write. If you are a newbie, it’s a great choice to start with python.
Python language is developed under an OSI- approved open source license, which makes it free for use and distribute, not only can you distribute, you can also makes changes to the source code.
Python programs can be moved from one platform to another without changes and it will run seamlessly. Platforms include windows, Mac OS, Linux. Python contains numerous third party modules that make it capable of interacting with most of the other languages.
Python has a built-in list and dictionary data structures which can be used to construct fast runtime data structures, also python provides the option of dynamic high-level data typing which reduces the length of support code that is needed.
Unlike C/C++, you don’t have to worry about daunting tasks like memory management, garbage collection and so on. Likewise, when you run python code, it automatically converts your code to the language your computer understands. You don’t need to worry about any lower case operation.
Python can be applicable in so many ways:
• In web Application, scalable web application using framework and content management system (CMS) can be built on python. Some of the popular platforms used in creating web app are Django, pyramid, flask, bottle, plone and Django cms.
• In scientific and numeric computing, python has a lot of tools which include:
 Scipy- A collection of packages for mathematical, science and engineering
 Pandas is a data analysis and modeling library
 Ipython is a powerful interactive shell that features easy editing and recording of a work session, and supports visualization and parallel computing.
In education, python is a superb language for teaching programming, both at the introductory level and advanced courses. It is very easy to learn and communicated.
• In software development, python is used as a support language. They use it for build control and management, testing, and for a lot of other things;
 Scons for build control
 Buildbot and apache gump for automated continuous compilation and testing
 Roundup or Trac for bug tracking and project
