My laptops were stolen sometimes last year and I've been managing an old Dell laptop.

Now, I intend to buy myself a laptop and I'm trying to balance specifications and costs. Please what's the specification of the laptop you guys currently use or preferably what would you recommend for me as a design Engineer.

PS: I intend to buy something that will be useful for me at least 3-4years from now!
Screen size >=15.6inches
Budget: 300-400k.

I currently use a lenovo laptop - Thinkpad S500 or so. It is just basic though. For your budget, you should get a very good laptop.

I have installed Autocad 2017, and also installed cads rc, but this is what keeps coming up " License status: Unlicensed"

no I have not tried. But upstand beam is similar to down stand beam. So I presume you’d just offset it up a little.

(I am not sure if there’s option for upstand beam on staad rcdc)

Upstand beam is not exactly the same. However, have you used the physical modeler in staad connect edition for modelling? I just recently installed the connect edition and each time I try to start the physical modeler, it crashes. Please, let me know if you have similar experience
