Members of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Friday threw their weight behind President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election bid.

They made their choice known on Friday when their National Executive Committee met with President Buhari at the State House, Aso Villa Abuja.

Speaking on behalf of the group, the National President, Chinedu Okoronkwo, noted that the country was faced with frequent problem of petroleum products supply before Buhari’s administration

He, however, said that there was free flow of petroleum products under the Buhari government.

He also said that the industry was enmeshed in deep corruption before Buhari’s administration, which is now a thing of the past.

“We are solidly behind your reelection bid. In our meetings, we have adopted you as our candidate. Your success in the election will be a success for Nigeria,” he added.

He also assured that there will be no fuel scarcity in the country throughout the period of the general elections.

Stressing that the association is ready to continue to work with the Buhari administration to surmount remaining problems in the industry, he disclosed that the association is planning to set up refineries in the country.

President Buhari thanked the group for adopting him as their candidate for the election.

They've managed fuel.

They've undertaken more construction than any single government over a 4 year period since 1960.

They've paid pensioners their aliquot share.

They've empowered the youth.

They've supported traders.

They've actually boosted Agric, specifically rice production.

They've boosted power generation and initiated projects in that sector that gladdens.

To me, privatizing the sector would be the best. Subsidy scam as well as hoarding to create scarcity thereby holding Nigerians to ransom would eventually come to an end. I even understand that's how it's done abroad. But they shouldn't sell them to local Nigerian companies, they lack financial and technical ability to run it
