The question on the lips of many Nigerians on social media right now is How Old is Dammy Krane?

This became a confusing topic of discussion since last night when the singer called out Korede Bello. According to him, 'I sang my first hit at 16-years, now I'm 23 years'.

His profile on Wikipedia is however extremely confusing. There, it says he was born in 1992 which technically should make him 25 years old. In the same profile, its also written that he signed his first record deal in 2012 at the age of 20 which should him 25-years old now. Though there are people who think he's at least 27 years.

Police in Lagos have arrested more than 30 suspected thieves at Oshodi-Oke, in a clampdown on suspected robbers who attack people caught up in traffic jam.

The suspects were alleged to belong to criminal gangs who dispossess motorists of their valuables during rush hours.

The Lagos State Police Command Public Relations Officer, Mr. Olarinde Famous-Cole, said the suspects who specialised in dispossessing motorists of valuables, were arrested on Friday evening.

“At about 5:45pm on Friday, November 10, the Police received information of an attack on a motorist by a gang of four men.

“The four men, all residents of Oshodi, divided themselves into two groups, whereby some distracted attention by engaging the driver, while other members of the gang quietly dispossessed the unsuspecting motorist.

“The victim, one Dare Adewale, was dispossessed of his Infinix mobile phone. The thieves ran away when passers-by raised the alarm.

“Men of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad posted to Oshodi-Oke subsequently rushed to the scene and the gang members were arrested,” he said.

He added that the suspects were immediately taken to the Police station for preliminary investigation.

In a similar development, the SARS operatives on the same day at 7pm also arrested 28 hoodlums who capitalised on the slow moving traffic caused by construction works at Oshodi to dispossess motorists of valuables.

According to the PPRO, the arrest was carried out through intelligence report and surveillance of the route during traffic.

“Today the 10th of November, 2017, at about 7pm at Oshodi area of Lagos State, SARS operatives arrested 28 hoodlums who attacked motorists in traffic gridlock caused by the ongoing construction work in that area.

“The arrest was done in the evening by operatives of Special Anti-Robbery Squad through intelligence report and surveillance of the area during traffic period.

“The Commissioner of Police Lagos State Command, Ag. CP Edgal Imohimi, is using this medium to inform members of the public who have been victims of traffic robbers in this area to kindly visit the State SARS office, Ikeja and help in identifying some of the arrested suspects.

“The suspects will be charged to court on Monday, November 13,” he said.

Famous-Cole added that the CP has promised that the Command would do all it takes to locate criminal hideouts and arrest more suspected traffic robbers.

This, he said, was to ease the free movement of Lagosians and ensure they feel safe to go about their daily activities, especially as the Yuletide is fast approaching.

Kenny Ogungbe, the Chief Executive Officer, Kennis Music, on Saturday advised the P-Square to urgently resolve their differences, saying the raging rift could ruin their music careers.

Ogungbe gave the advice in an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) 2017 in Lagos. Newsmen report that news was rife on the breakup of the two music stars, 35-year-old identical twin brothers, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye, after an irreconcilable differences.

According to Wikipaedia, the free encyclopaedia, P-Square are Nigerian R&B duo of identical twin brothers, Peter Okoye and Paul Okoye. “They produced and released their albums through Square Records. In December 2011, they signed a record deal with Akon’s Konvict Muzik label. “In May 2012, they signed a record distribution deal with Universal Music’s South African branch.

“On Sept. 25, 2017, numerous media outlets reported that the group was disbanded. Reports about a breakup surfaced after Peter reportedly sent a termination letter to the group’s lawyer. “Prior to this report, the duo disbanded in 2016, supposedly over a disagreement about the role of their manager.’’ Ogungbe said: “The fighting between the P-Square will not bring out anything good; they are brothers and have produced over 100 songs, but they are fighting, it is going to affect their music.

“I don’t care about what anybody says, it is a bad development for them; they should settle whatever they have against each other. “Most Nigerian musicians are very pompous and have no respect; they derive pleasure in fighting which always lead to their downfall. “For me, I want all Nigerian musicians to be successful, that is what I want and pray for. They should succeed,’’ he said. Ogungbe said that Nigerian musicians should do more to be heard and be reckoned with in the international community.

“The way I want Nigeria music to go is the same way you want Nigeria music to go. I want it to progress and beautiful. “I want more artists to make more money, so that we can have successful artists; that’s my prayer for Nigeria music industry. “Most Nigeria musicians making waves now are not better than those in the remote, but they must do more to be heard. “For me as a producer, I will pick those I know that can make wave and elevate me competitively, because there is a lot of competitiveness in the industry now,’’ he said. Ogungbe also advised the upcoming artists to be patient and learn the rope before they shot themselves into limelight, adding that there were lots of improvements in the music industry.

“Everybody is an upcoming artist. I don’t know what to say when you refer to yourself as an upcoming artist, you need patience. “There is a lot of improvement in the industry that makes people to want to join the industry and the industry needs money. “Our artists need to learn the ropes and not just wake up in the industry to sing; they need money, at least money to record their products. “The best music will be heard, the best person will be heard; even some people up there, you will see that there are many things happening,’’ he said.

The twins brothers came to limelight in 2001 after they won the “Grab Da Mic Competition and since then have not looked back churning out back-to-back hit songs. The duet singers and dancers equally released hit song “Get squared’’ in 2005 which topped number one position of the MTV Base Chart for four consecutive weeks. They also dropped another hit song “Game Over’’ which was claimed to have sold about eight million copies worldwide.

Patrick Medayese, a 26-year-old Mechanical Engineering student of Federal Polytechnic in Idah, on Saturday won the annual 10km race organised by the S.O. Adeleye Foundation in Kabba, Kogi.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the race which started from Kabba and ended in Iyara had 648 contestants, comprising 559 male and 89 female.

Medayese, who had a time of 45 minutes 53 seconds, while speaking to newsmen after the race, thanked God for the opportunity given to him this year.

“I have engaged in various forms of training for this big day. I finished third during the 2016 race, but I made up my mind that I will be the first this year and God has granted me this,’’ he said.

The male competition winner also thanked the race organisers for the opportunity given to the competitors to showcase their talent.

He promised not to disappoint at the national level.

Rashidat Musa, a 16-year-old Senior Secondary School (SSS) 3 student of St Monica College in Kabba, won the female event with a time of 53 minutes 40 seconds.

Speaking also, Musa said running has always been her hobby as she has always run for her school.

“My parents are in support and they always encouraged me to be the best in whatever I am doing and never to give up.”

The first runner-up in the female event, Nike Alfred who is a mother of a nine-month-old baby, said if not for her baby she would have won the race.

“But I will be warming up for the next edition of this competition,” she said.

The first runner-up in the male event, Olubo Micheal, thanked the organisers for putting youths in mind, promising to do more in the next edition.

Founder of S.O. Adeleye Foundation and sponsor/organiser of the race, Sunday Adeleye, said he was very happy with the turnout of competitors.

“Even though I expected more, but I am not disappointed. I believe that the turnout in 2018 will be bigger.”

He said the competition was his own way of giving back to the society he has gained so much from.

“I am giving back to my country from my achievements, because sports took me where I am today, and encouraging youths is the only way I can give back.”

Adeleye disclosed that the two champions from the male and female events would be sponsored to the Lagos city marathon race.

“They will go through other trainings to prepare them,’’ he said.

NAN reports that the first to third position winners received cash prizes of N20,000 each, while those who placed fourth to 10th receive

Daddy Freeze is shifting focus from the controversial topic of 'tithing' to focus on wealth creation and poverty eradiction which he says will consume us all, If we don't stand up to fight it.

He writes;

We need to pool parts of our incomes together NOW and start building FREE schools, FREE hospitals and FREE housing estates for the poor amongst us!

The church has failed us.....but we cannot fail one another. We entrusted our money into their hands and they built huge edifices, bought jets, luxury cars, built schools that their poor congregations cant afford to attend etc!


Or how do you explain the senior pastor of a church who sent his wife abroad for cancer treatment, telling his congreagation to give faith offering and pray anytime they fall ill? I read somewhere that we have 18 radiotherapy machines in Nigeria out of which only 11 are functional. Guess what, in America they have 75 of these same machines for DOGS!

According to www.worldpoverty.io, Nigeria’s population in extreme poverty is rising by 5.7 people per minute and that in DRC by 3.6 people per minute. The rest of Africa is reducing poverty by 4.7 people per minute.

According to statistics, poverty is reducing in Africa, but increasing in Nigeria, despite 23,000 registered Churches, with one particular church having over 34,000 branches nationwide, and they are telling us that wealth is created through tithing??

The tithing of the last 2 decades has created wealth only for selfish preachers, while the rest of us have been impoverished!

The situation in Nigeria is such that in February next year it will overtake India as having the most people living in extreme poverty in the world, at 82m, the clock predicts. This would probably upgrade us to the country with the most Christians living in extreme poverty.
