In response to your post.
You're in the right direction. Agric still remains the best, if the needful is done.

First I might not be able to answer most of the farming related questions, but I have a few questions for you regarding the land you intend to purchase.

Where in Kwara is the said land?
What's the nature of the land, and how genuine is your seller?
Apart from the fencing, What is your plan on securing the land "officially" (getting title)?
I'm asking these because, I've learnt a lesson or two in this area?
Ilorin is where mine is located.

You don't need all this epistle to try to look more intelligent than you are. Stop trying to be smart. If nobody loses anything from wearing Hijab to public schools, no one will lose anything if it's banned. Your daughters don't spend the whole day in school.. 8hours of not wearing Hijab won't kill them or make them unholy. If you have in depth knowledge of Islam, u should have simple common sense as well to accept and obey simple laws that won't kill you. They all be talking about the little girls right as if some of these girls are not forced to wear the hijab.

Will any of you Muslims allow your daughters to exercise their RIGHTS if they willingly choose not to wear the Hijab? No hijab in public schools just for the period you are within the school premises(8hours). Don't tell us she....t about how the hijab can be made to blend with school uniforms. that's total CRAAP!
see wat I'm saying ryt here... & u have to insult before your msg is passed. Sorry, I don't do dat.

EducationRe: Court Upholds Ban On Use Of Hijab In Lagos Public Schools by 4har5y: 10:49pm On Oct 18, 2014
OPINION
I'm neither in support nor am I really in opposition to the court's verdict on this issue. My reason being every "human law" is error-bound-- Don't be surprise if this same case is won at the court of appeal (i.e the ban being lifted). It all depends on the perspective of the Judge handling the case (and ofcourse the counsels involved).

But the following is important...

Why would the case get to court in the 1st place?

Why and how was the ban (on Hijab) placed in the 1st instance?

Is the use of this Hijab a new thing in these schools? I mean did they just start wearing it?

Was the ban placed immediately the usage started?

Or the "authority" just woke one day and said: there has to be an end to this?

We can keep asking these questions, keep giving different views and opinion, keep arguing on & on & on till thy kingdom come.

We'll still not arrive at a conclusion. No way forward.

But I blame all of these on two things:

INTOLERANCE AND IGNORANCE of the average Nigerian.

***TOLERANCE
If TOLERANCE does exist in the system, the use of Hijab won't be a problem in the 1st place, Bcuz I personal believe its not hindering any non- muslim from sticking to his/her belief. #NoHarmCaused
And if we wanna talk uniformity among the students, the government could just say: OK, u wanna wear Hijab, fine, but the color of ur Hijab must not differ from the school uniform. This alone will do the magic and peace will reign. #NoOneIsLosing.

***IGNORANCE
We all hear this quote a lot.

"If you want to hide something from a Black man, put it in writing (or in a book )".

We Nigerians (myself inclusive) are too lazy to read.
We are not ready to learn new things.
We listen to answer & not to understand.
We are too quick to criticize.
We are too SENTIMENTal.
We are not ready to know the TRUE teachings of other religion or belief.

I read some comments above and I wonder if some people actually know anything about Islam. They Judge Islam based on what a muslim (by name & not by character) does...

We know very little, yet we argue (blindly) a lot. The worst part is, we call others ignorant when it actually is what we are.

*My advice to Muslims:
Please try and "show" the world what are the TRUE teachings of Islam. Some muslims (by name) hardly pray the five obligatory prayers, they know very little (or nothing) about Islam, yet when issues like this comes up, they wanna make (blind) arguments. They claim to be muslims.

CONCLUSION
The only way forward is to learn how to TOLERATE others-- Every religion (that I know of) teaches this. It will do this Nation a great help.
We should always be neutral in our dealings with others and have in-depth knowledge of both our religion and that of others, this will not only reduce un-necessary argument (& insults) but bring peace to all parties.

I rest my case...
#peace
EducationRe: Court Upholds Ban On Use Of Hijab In Lagos Public Schools by 4har5y: 7:49am On Oct 18, 2014
ibnhasan:
Why the Hijab ban is flawed

1. Muslims pay tax and have the right to attend public institutions. The Public institutions should therefore not be set up in such a way to preclude Muslims from attending. People made the rules, and people can change them.

2. Christians really have no obligation to wear white garments beyond the church and neither do the traditional worshipers have any religious clothes. So allowing Hijabs will NOT translate to chaos. I know many christian boys who wear

3. We should also stop the lie that there is no religion in public schools. The fact that students pray on assembly everyday and that religious studies are still taught negates this.

4. Nigeria is secular on paper only. Its the reason why religious leaders still have so much influence in our politics a la Oristejafor and Northern Emirs;the reason why we pray in every government function and even sponsor people on religious pilgrimages with taxpayers money. Countries that are truly secular don't do these.

5. By banning Hijab in public schools its easy to see how the ban may soon include all public places in the name of secularism; government offices including the House of Reps and Senate are also public spaces which should be devoid of all religious symbols.

6. Must it to get to that before we see how a Hijab ban erodes the fundamental human rights of Muslims?

7. By criminalizing Hijab in schools, what lesson are we passing across to young ones about tolerance and mutual respect?

8. Yet Hijab harms no one. Those who oppose it do so only because they don't like it.
u've said it all. U r blessed

Noooo, we are in a SECULAR country. NOT A RELIGIOUS one. Your safety and right to practice your religion is guaranteed and nothing else.

Dress code for a government school must be impartial to ALL students, if Muslims are allowed Hijabs by Jove my kids should go in their pajamas cos my religion gives them the right to.

Once again I say, Nigeria is a SECULAR state, meant to accommodate all her religions and treat them equally (nevermind the truncation of the constitution by Sharia law in the north)
I neva said Nigeria is a Religious country, mind u

Remember we r talkin abt Decency here, not jst any dress code. Hijab does not in anyway go against other people's religion.
And as per ur Pajamas, if ur religion "orders" u to use pajamas everywhere u go, as long as it does not take away ur decency ( lyk showing ur cleavages) and does not in anyway affect others academically and religious-wise, den no one says u shouldn't use it. But Remember, lyk I said earlier, Hijab is not taking anytin away 4rm other religion (in this country), so why not let it be.

And concerning "truncation" of constitution by Sharia in d North, I must say I do not undastand wat u mean by dat.
But if asking u not to consume alcohols in public places is "truncation" of d constitution, I may be forced to ask: where is our morals?

See, my brother, Nigeria is not an Islamic State. Yes, wearing a hijab, even a niqab, is mandatory in Islam. However, student dressing in approved uniforms has never affected their academic performance in school. Other muslim women who finished from federal unity schools and state schools wore the approved uniforms and many of them are now Professors, Lawyers, Lecturers, Engineers, Doctors and equally still devout muslimas. Why is wearing the hijab in public schools suddenly a big deal?
Right. Nigeria is not an Islamic state but d last time I check, dere is still freedom of Religion in Nigeria.
Students dressing in approved uniform has never affected dia academic performance.. Dis is also ryt.. Using the Hijab will neither affect dia academic perfomance nor will it go obstruct non-muslims...
So y not let dem practice dia religion since its not against d country's constitution and no-one is losing here. Its a win-win situation.

Lemme make some point clear 2 u

1. We are in a country dat supposely supports freedom of religion. D muslim here is only saying; Look, my religion says I should cover my hair ( use the Hijab once I attain puberty) just allow me to practice my religion since my country is not against freedom of religion.

2. D muslims here ain't saying everybody (Christians & idol worshippers inclusive) must use the Hijab

3. Head-covering does not in anyway go against any religion here (Nigeria). Infact, if u know ur Bible very well, the word "Veil" shouldn't be a strange thing to you. #AcientChristianity... Peace unto you bro.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 10 Things To Delete From Your Cv/resume Immediately by 4har5y: 1:54am On Oct 07, 2014
lrguru:
The trick to writing a great resume that stands out
from the gigantic stack of resumes hiring managers
receive from job applicants is to look at it through an unbiased lens. You need to make a conscious effort to delete the clutter, and chances are at least 20% of the content in your resume is useless clutter. By cutting the clutter, your resume will be stronger and more effective.
Following are 10 things you should delete from your
resume immediately. By omitting these elements,
your resume will have a significantly better chance of resonating with hiring managers.

1. An Objective Statement
There was a time when every resume began with an
objective statement. Today, these subjective
statements are little more than fluff that steal space
from compelling content.

2. Personal Details
Not only do personal details take away valuable
space where you could include useful details about
your work experience, but they also look
unprofessional. In fact, personal details can do more harm than good in terms of landing an interview. If your resume includes details about how many kids you have, where you grew up, your marital status, your religion, your age, or any other extraneous personal details, delete them right now. Keep in mind, hiring managers aren’t allowed to ask you much of this personal information during the
interview process because it could be considered
discriminatory. Therefore, these personal details
have no place on a professional resume.

3. Personal Interests
Personal interests should never appear on a resume. They steal valuable real estate and are unlikely to have any relevance to a hiring manager. In other words, hiring managers shouldn’t care if you like cooking, fishing, basketball, sewing, or any other hobby. A resume should include work-related
content, not personal content.

4. Basic Skills and Obvious Information
Unless a job description specifically mentions basic
skills like typing, email, and so on, you shouldn’t
include them on your resume. Furthermore, leave
out obvious information that steals space from
important information. For example, the commonly
used statement telling hiring managers that
references are available upon request is obvious and unnecessary.

5. Your Picture
A resume should never include a picture of yourself. It makes your resume look unprofessional. If your picture is included anywhere on your resume, delete it now.

6. Every Job You’ve Ever Had
Unless that babysitting job you had in high school is
extremely relevant to the job you’re applying for now, leave it off of your resume. Always tailor the content of your resume to the specific job you’re applying for. Your goal should be to show the hiring manager that you can do the job. Don’t tell them your life story. No one cares about unrelated jobs that you’ve had throughout your life, but they will care if important details related to the job they need to fill are not on your resume.

7. Extras You Were Not Asked For
Hiring managers are busy people. If they ask you to
send a resume and cover letter, send those two
documents and nothing additional. You might be
tempted to include copies of recommendation
letters, performance reports, transcripts, and other
documents that support how wonderful you are, but that extra documentation is unlikely to help you.
First, sending extraneous documents tells a hiring
manager that you cannot follow directions. Second, it shows a hiring manager that you’re incapable of
succinctly showing them that you can do the job
within your resume. Third, extra documentation is
overwhelming and adds more clutter for a hiring
manager to dig through. If you take the time to create an amazing resume, you won’t need to include all of that extra documentation. Your resume will pique the hiring manager’s interest so much that she’ll want to meet with you where you can share all of the additional information about yourself.

8. Too Many Contact Options
You’re popular and busy. You want to make sure that a hiring manager can contact you at a moment’s notice. While that’s very understandable, you should never clutter your resume with a list of contact options. Instead, demonstrate to hiring managers that you can make a decision by choosing one phone number and one email address to include at the top of your resume. It only takes a second for a hiring manager to get frustrated and develop a subconscious negative perception of your resume when she is presented with a long list of contact options and can’t figure out which one to use. Don’t annoy hiring managers. Instead, make it as easy as possible for them to contact you. Believe it or not, they know you might not answer your phone and might have to call them back.

9. Long-winded Descriptions
Remember, hiring managers are very busy and
typically have stacks of resumes to review when they have a job to fill. They won’t read through long
paragraphs of text describing your experience, so
keep your content short and sweet. Use bullet points and action words. Don’t include subjective
assessments of your work. Instead, show hiring
managers what you’ve done with quantifiable
examples that demonstrate your abilities.

10. Mistakes
This might seem like an obvious thing to omit from
your resume, but the number of resumes hiring
managers look at on a daily basis that include
mistakes is very high. Review your resume for
spelling, grammar, and formatting mistakes, and
then review it again. Use spell check. Read it
backwards, and read it out loud. Take a break and
read it again. Furthermore, you should never rely
solely on proofreading your own work because you
won’t catch all of the errors. With that in mind, be
sure to give your resume to at least three other
people to review too.
