The Tribunal has declared senator Ademola Adeleke the winner of the governorship election held last year september in Osun state. Senator Ademola Adeleke who represented the people democratic party (PDP) contested against the sitting Governor Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressive Congress (APC). with the later declared winner after some controversial supplementary election.

This declaration came up on Friday by the Tribunal after appealing a preliminary objection for the petition of the People Democratic Party and Senator Adeleke, thus challenging the governorship election in the state held on September 2018.

It is believed that the preliminary objection for the petition was filed by 3 defendants in the persons of All Progressives Congress (APC) and its candidate in the election, Governor Gboyega Oyetola, and also the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)
