So on this thread, I'm gonna teach you how to make mashups from the very basics.

2. How to know which beats and traks rhyme together

So I'm just gonna drop some hints here. Depends on your taste of music. These are tracks that go hand in hand.

Getting Started As A DJ

If you wanna be a DJ, you need software and hardware.
Software comes first
For laptops.
1. Serato DJ
2. Pioneer DJ
3. Fruity loops (very important)
4. DeeJay 3.
5. DeeJay 4.


If you didn't have a laptop, no worries. Androids can mix too.
For Android /IOS
1. Edjing DJ
2. Cross DJ**
3. DeeJay 4

Those are the top quality apps.
Master software before hardware (Golden rule)

How to mix a mashup.

Before you mix, you need to have a hands on XP with the DJ turn table.
That's where the majik happens.
Below is your regular Turntable (Virtual).
The real TT are for pros

This is called the deck. You load your songs here. The songs you wanna mash up
Let's call them Deck A and Deck.B
The record button is also there if you wanna record your tapes.

After successfully loading both decks, it should look like this.

Creating a mash up

Mixing songs is very easy if you know your onions
Take a look at this.
Try mixing "Smash This Beat" into "I remember" by Deadmau5

BPM is the name of the game. It matters a lot.
You have to sync two songs together in order to ma's them up.
Get it right, and you're a mash up guru. Get it wrong and your mixtape will be a train wreck.
You can sync songs together manually and automatically. I suggest you use songs with constant And simple beats first.
1 and 2 is for automatic syncing
3 and 4 is for manual syncing (for pros)

DJ tips.
1. Don't apply too much sound effects. It drowns the main thing(your mixtape) and makes your track sound arkward.
2. Start of at a slow pace like 115-120 BPM. Then keep moving up till you get to 128-130 BPM. Thats the magic number.
3. Mix genres that YOU like. Don't always give the crowd what they want. Play some originals and it will help you build your own signature
