There has been a relatively lull in activities of bandits and flow of illicit weapons since the border closure. Although the borders will eventually be opened there is need for water tight controls |

The only security challenge that has not been heard of in the past 4 years is bombings in cities outside the North East (Abuja, Kaduna, etc), but Kidnapping, herdsmen attacks, banditry have been on the increase.
