The University, on Saturday graduated its pioneer students.

The University also offered immediate employment to four of its graduands for distinguishing themselves academically and morally during their studies in the University.

The beneficiary students are Mr. Solomon Doye John from Bayelsa State, a graduate of Computer Science with CGPA of 4.96, Mr. James Gabriel, from Benue State, a graduate of Microbiology with CGPA of 4.78.

Others include, Mr. Uzosike Chigemezu Favour from Imo State, a graduate of Accounting with CGPA of 4.74 and Miss Salvation Beatrice from Bayelsa State, a graduate of Microbiology with CGPA of 4.74.

Vice Chancellor of the University, disclosed this in an address he presented at the maiden convocation of the university.

“The CGPAs are out of 5.0. They have all distinguished themselves in both character and learning. The University will be offering employment to them as Graduate Assistants in our hard areas of need consecutively.

“God give us the grace and with improved funding, we hope to continue with this trend in the future so as to have on our staff, our own brand of graduates that have been thoroughly mentored in the vision, mission and philosophy of the university, and who we pray, would in future eventually join and participate in the leadership of the institution. We should sponsor them to the PhD level, and they will join our staff,” he said.

Founder of the University, said seven students out of the forty one graduates, bagged 1st class degrees, while a total of eighteen other students bagged 2nd class upper degrees in various disciplines.

His address was read by one of his sons.

He expressed joy when he saw the pioneer students.

He said, “Today is a joy for me. For the University, our pioneer graduates, their families and all men and women of goodwill.

"It is with the greatest delight and excitement that I, founder and Chancellor of this great University welcome the array of distinguished personalities present at this epoch making maiden convocation of the University at which various first university degrees would be awarded to the pioneer of the climax of a dream come true, and a day of overwhelming joy.”

He also congratulated the pioneer graduands of the institution.

“I wish to congratulate the pioneer graduands, the pace setters of this great institution for making the University proud by successfully completing their courses of study.

"Indeed, without them, this convocation would not have held. The graduands are the flag bearers and ambassadors of this University.

“They should strive for higher heights and lift up the name of the University in all the endeavours of life, they find themselves.

“The adage first impression matters is true always. They are the first impression of this University and they should jealously guard it.

They constitute the first Alumni of the University and should not forget their Alma Mater, no matter the challenges of life.

“Through the rugged training received in the University, I am confident by the help of God, that they will surmount all challenges.

“Once again, I wish to thank everyone present for the honour done to us by your esteemed presence and I wish my graduating students the best in life. They shall rise to great heights nationally and internationally in the name of God Almighty,” he added.
