Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by Mancala: 1:14am On May 01
Thanks. Sad to say, I don't believe I will be doing anymore international travel this year and doubt if I will entertain any visitors staying over either. It's rather sad that it's only April and the entire year is probably written off. This staying at home thing is not easy wherever you are!

What’s the fate of the valid B1/B2 visa for someone with a denied F1 visa. Will the B1/B2 automatically be cancelled??

Does anybody have an info on when the embassy will be opened since the lockdown has now been eased? How soon should people start applying? Please anyone with insider info should share. Thanks
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fkj950ax(m): 4:43pm On May 03
We have to wait for the US Federal system to announce lockdown is over for Federal employees. The embassy runs with the US Government schedule and calendar. Nigeria's lockdown easing won't influence their decision. I need that announcement also

I don't think so. They are different visas and that will be a punitive measure

Does anyone have an idea if the US consulate in Lagos is still receiving visa applications and scheduling interviews for non-immigrant visa at this time?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by FASTLINK1: 8:19pm On May 13
It will not affect your valid B1B2 visa, only that you can't use B1B2 in place of F1 while in the US.

As of today this is the information available.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by slashthroat: 5:14pm On May 25
Lol July/August is not a date.
Where did you get that from?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by slashthroat: 5:15pm On May 25
There is no mention of date on there. If you know its on there please post the link
Unless you meant they ( the embassy) will post it when they ready
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by mrprolifik: 5:17pm On May 25
slashthroat:I have updated my earlier post with a link.
And from what I understood after reading it . Is that visa issuance at the USA embassy is still on hold and there is no date for resumption yet.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by slashthroat: 5:19pm On May 25
Good. You said it like the date was there but thanks for the correction.
I also think that while DOS will give direction on when to open. The actually opening will be dependent on the consulars overseas as different countries are still going through reopening procedures. Nigeria being an example.
So the best example will be the website of the embassy in Nigeria not that of the DOS

The virus must have vanished or drastically reduced by JUNE.
So, by JULY/AUGUST visa appointement cum interviews will start.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fkj950ax(m): 7:46pm On May 25
Even airlines have opened their booking portals. You can select international flights from July 01.
June dates returns no flights
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by slashthroat: 8:22pm On May 25
Which airline closed their booking portal?
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by fkj950ax(m): 8:56pm On May 25
They all did. If their planes are grounded, why will they sell tickets with dates you cant travel on.
Go to any and pick May 30 or June 15 as a travel date and let's know the response.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by slashthroat: 9:27pm On May 25
You are right! I thought they all strategically left it open with a caveat that the flight may not operate and only reschedules are possible so they can hold on to that revenue
