Hi guys, I would like to know if C, C++, or C# is important in web development? Are they necessary for someone whose main goal is building and designing web application.

If the answer is yes, I would like to know the type of role any of the program plays in web development and it would be nice if you show me a site that uses any of the above language.

If I have seen some websites that uses java but isn't it possible for javascripts,php, to achieve the same goal?

Those are core programming sites. They are not needed for building web appication. PHP, JSP, Colfusuin, ASP can do it for you.

If your sole aim is web apps then you may not need much of C/C++. But C# is one of the microsoft proprietary programming languages that you can use in asp.net for building web apps. Others are VB.net and J#. Once you are using the .net framework for web apps,it doesn't matter which .net language you use. The user will jsut see a .aspx extension in the web page name.

Languages like Java,C,C++ are made for programming.For designing you can use perl,php,html etc.
