I do believe inappropriate dressing adds fire to an already smouldering heat but women that are covered from head to toe and modestly dressed also get raped. I believe men need to run the anti-rape message and since we carry the burden, should also make its penalty consistent and severe. 1 Like |

Is inappropriate dressing also the reason why some men also get raped? Advise about rape should be applicable to both gender. It's better to educate the minds of Nigerians, and advocate for stiffer penalties to those found guilty regardless of gender. 2 Likes 1 Share |

In the north where the religion expects women to be covered, there aren't cases of rape? What about fathers who molest their daughters and men who sexually abuse little children? Stop trying to blame depravity on the victims of rape. Do men pounce on mad women who move about nude? Why not? Meaning if you put a guy in a room with a naked woman, he would be overwhelmed by uncontrollable lust? Some guys are decent. Others, no more better than dogs. Aflix:Compare that to the number of rape cases not caused by it, indecent dressing is a small fraction. In Arab countries, men don't rape women? When you go to the beach and see ladies wearing bikinis, you become overwhelmed with the urge to rape them? Fathers and male figures who molest those entrusted to them, including their children, do so because the young ones moved about naked? Some men don't target particular women? Some don't rape women who are on jeans and cardigans? All rape victims wore skimpy clothing, right? If all the women on earth decides to dress like the Virgin Mary, rape would still continue. The solution isn't to blame the victims, esp with something as silly as this, but to enforce strict penalties. |

 Sometimes, it's best you close your mouth so you don't reveal how ignorant you are. I guess kids and infants who are raped also "dressed indecently"! No reason for rape! People just rape. I don't understand why the FGN are not taking drastic measure on rapist. I think maybe because they themselves are rapists too hence their action. If any rapist caught in action are given life sentences and those that attacked their victims while armed along side those who rape minors bellow the age of 10, are sentenced to death and executed publicly, the crime rate will reduce. |
